Hi I'm Patsy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man and am mom to three amazing children. I enjoy time outside, camping and working in my garden. I love to travel (especially road trips) and to see all the amazing things of nature. My family and I have lived in many different places in the United States. I enjoy getting to know people and to hear their stories of life. I work with special needs children as a special education teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a small farming community in south-central Ohio. I was surrounded by extended family and loved going to grandma's for Sunday dinner and seeing all my cousins. My mom was very active in her faith and had been all my life. I believed strongly in Jesus Christ and knew that he would hear my prayers and help me. I thank my mother for this. I wanted to read the Bible and stayed up late one night and said a prayer and told God that some day I would be good. I started to read in our family Bible and quickly fell asleep because I didn't understand it. I had questions but didn't know how to find answers. My sister had been visited by the Mormon missionaries in college. When she would come home I noticed how happy she was and that she was so kind and helpful. She had been baptised and was attending the Mormon church. I knew then that I wanted to know what she knew. She openly shared her beliefs and her new found happiness. I listened to her and the Mormon missionaries started teaching my family what the beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were. I was baptised the day after my 14th birthday and am now much older and am greatful each day for the knowledge I have of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This knowledge and testimony of Jesus Christ provides me peace in troubled times and happiness and purpose. My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ has propelled me forward to a purpose driven life with answers to my questions about where I came from, why I am here and where I and my loved ones will go after this life. I now understand God, my Heavenly Father, better and feel I have a relationship with Him. I know God, Heavenly Father, answers prayers. He answered a young girl's prayer in a small farming town and led me to the gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Each morning when I wake up and stumble off to shower, I ponder life and think how much my knowledge of my Savior, Jesus Christ, means to me. I use His atonement every day to overcome my weakness. I'm not perfect. I try to always be kind to others and to help others. I participate in the gospel of Jesus Christ in many ways. I visit ladies from church through a church program called "visiting teaching". This is how we help each other to fill service needs and friendship. Everyone needs friends. I also teach the children at church and oversee the children's organization. I help with different activities at church and have learned so much in all these service opportunities. One of the Ten Commandments is to keep the Sabbath day holy and I try to live this by reserving Sunday as a family day where my family and I can worship and serve together.
