Hi I'm Paula

I am happily married with four kids. I work part time as a physical therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi. My name is Paula and I am a wife and mother of four beautiful children. I grew up in rural Nevada, and now live in the southern United States. My husband is from Guatemala. We met through missionary work in our church. I am a physical therapist and work in the area of home health where I go into people's homes to provide their therapy. My hobbies are my family, reading, volleyball, baskbetball, shopping, baking, and church. My husband and I love to travel and take advantage of any opportunity to do so. We love learning about other cultures, and each taught each other our native language.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. My parents were already members, and they took me to church with them every Sunday and taught us in their home. I remember the good feeling I would have at church, or when we were reading the scriptures at home. I felt peace, and joy when we talked about the gospel. There wasn't one decisive moment when I gained a testimony about the truthfulness about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is was more of many small moments added together that gave me the firm conviction. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I believe that this is His church, and He restored his gospel to the earth through the Prohet Joseph Smith. I know the Book of Mormon is scripture and the word of God because I have prayed and asked if it is true. I received an answer to my prayer through a warm feeling in my heart, and peace in my mind. I know that the authority of God, the Priesthood, has been restored to the earth again, and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. He is God's mouthpiece and here to bless and guide us in our lives. I believe in personal revelation. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us, and want to guide us and help us. They do this through the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I know that families can be together forever, and there is life after death, and a plan for us to return to our Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus lives. I know that He died for me, and atoned for my sins so that I could return to live with Him if I would repent. I know that through His Atonement, I can overcome any sins or weaknesses, and also any trial or adversity in my life. I don't know what I would do without this testimony. When hard times come, it gives me peace. It helps me know that no matter what- I can get through it if I depend on Jesus Christ. It helps me to know that this life is a time for difficulty, trial, and also joy. It helps me to know that in the next life all will be fair and made right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by doing my best to practice what I preach. I study the gospel of Jesus Christ everyday and try to develop qualities that help me become more like Him. In our church, I work with the youth 12-18 years old in 9 different congregations. We plan dances, activities, camps, and conferences where they can learn more about Jesus Christ, more about who they are and their potential, and how to have fun and socialize. I also visit three different women in my town each month where we have a short gospel lesson, and check to make sure that they are well taken care of. Each week, we also have a special family night where we bring our children together, sing, have a gospel lesson, and have fun.
