Hi I'm Dillon

I am a father, attorney, and foodie, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have what I would consider to be a blessed life. I was fortunate to be raised in great family and now have a family of my own. I met my wife when I was a sophomore in college, and we got married a year and half later. Shortly before law school we were blessed with our first child and then another during my second year. Starting a family while in school was not always easy, but we knew it was the right thing to do at the time and have been tremendously blessed for having done so. When I am not practicing law you can usually find me either enjoying quality time with my kids, hiking, reading the latest new in electoral politics, or creating my next favorite recipe. I love music, and while I am not musically inclined, I have learned how hammer/scratch out a few notes on both the guitar and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know Jesus Christ is our Savior, that he has restored his Church in our day, and that he has called living prophets to lead and guide the Church in these troubling times. As it states in the Epistle of James, Chapter 1, Verse 5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." This same promise was echoed by the prophet Moroni in Moroni 10:3-5, when he testified that those who read the Book of Mormon, pray in the name of the Lord with faith, the Holy Ghost tell them of its truth. While my faith may not be a perfect knowledge of the truth, I have followed James' and Moroni's admonitions and the Holy Ghost has testified to me that Jesus is the Christ, that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament of Christ, that we have living prophets on the earth today who lead and guide us, that this life is a time for us to prepare to meet God, and that we can be with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to apply the Lord's teachings to my life. From a practical standpoint I do this by being a loving husband, father, and provider for my family, by serving the in the Church (I am currently a Sunday School teacher), and by being an "example of the believers" (1 Timothy 4:12). While I am far from perfect, I know that through the atonement of Christ I can repent of my shortcomings and improve each day.
