Hi I'm Shelley

I was raised in Southern Arizona. I'm a stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have five children who keep me very busy! Most of my time is spent doing things for my family, but in my free time I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, decorating my house, and going on dates with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Latter-Day Saint family and have been active in the church all my life. There wasn't one specific moment when I gained a testimony, but as I grew up I had many experiences where I felt the Spirit testify to me that the gospel was true. As I think about the experiences I've had in my life, I can see the Lord's hand guiding me and answering my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is real and loves me. He atoned for our sins and died for us, so that we could live again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored the gospel to the earth. It is such a blessing to know why we are here, and what will happen after death. Sometimes I take the gospel for granted, but when I stop and think about what my life would be like without it, I am humbled and so grateful that I have it in my life.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend church each week, along with various other activites during the week. I live my faith by trying to serve faithfully in the many different callings I have received in the church. I am currently working with the children in my ward, and it is such a blessing to be with them each week in church and hear them express their feelings about the gospel. My favorite thing is listening to them sing songs about the Savior, it always touches my heart. I think my most important responsibility is to teach my children the gospel, to read scriptures with them and pray with them and to love them. Another important part of living my faith is serving others in any way that I can. Trying to live as Christ taught us to live. Being a member of the church is about living the gospel every day, not just on Sunday.
