Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Margaret Hammond

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom to three lively boys. I enjoy cooking, traveling and playing the piano and harp. I am a registered dietitian and I speak Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly believe this is Jesus Christ's church on the earth today. The teachings of the Church are a guide to my life and I feel that following the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to draw closer to God.I

How I live my faith

I serve in the church aas a pianist for the children's organization. I love to hear the children sing about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also work with the eight and nine year old girls in a bimonthly program where we learn about serving others, living the teachings of Jesus and developing skills and talents. I visit three sisters each month to see how they are doing spiritually and otherwise. I care about these sisters and enjoy our association.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Margaret Hammond
Missionaries choose to serve a mission. I chose to serve a mission. I had a great desire to share the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Since my parents were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I knew the blessings our family had received because missionaries taught my parents. I wanted to give others an opportunity to hear the restored gospel, too. I served in Uruguay for eighteen months and was able to share the message that Heavenly Father loves us because we are His children. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior and help us overcome sin and death. Because of Jesus' sacrifice, we are able to repent of our sins and we will all be resurrected after we die. Heavenly Father continues to talk to prophets today, just as He did in Biblical times. The prophets teach us how to follow Jesus Christ. I am grateful I could share these important truths on my mission. I continue to look for opportunities to share the Gospel message with the people I know. Show more Show less
