Hi I'm Alissa

I'm a daughter, a sister, and an aunt. I'm a student and a book enthusiast. I love my family, and I love God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent most of my life living in Indiana, but I spent some time living in Utah. I'm currently a high school student, and I love it. I love having the ability to learn. I plan to attend college and get a degree that allows me to help other people. I love music. I sing, and I'm currently learning how to play the piano. I like listening to all different kinds of music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and have attended all of my life. I have made the choice to be a member of this church, because of the feelings I get when I read the scriptures and attend church meetings. I was baptized at the age of eight, but I don't think I was trully converted until I was about 12 or 13. I had been reading my scriptures everyday for about a month or so, and attending my church meetings. I knew my parents were both members, and I knew that I agreed with the principles of the church. I really wanted to know for myself that the things I was reading and learning were true. After reading my scriptures that night, I decided to pray asking to know that everthing was true. As I sat in silence, I felt a burning warmth and I knew that everything was true. I knew that I had a testimony.

How I live my faith

I am member of the youth group in my ward. I am a member of the youth presidency, and I help plan activites for the young women. I also help in making decisions on how to best help the young women in my ward. I attend a public high school, and I live my standards there. I also help my mother at a volunteer thrift store in our community. We do a lot for the thrift store.
