Hi I'm Krissy

I have five children. I live in Austin TX. I homeschool. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married early in college and was blessed to get my BS in Cognitive Development from BYU while juggling raising a small family. I am now a mom of 5 and home-school them all. I love to learn and have recently taken classes or seminars on investing, money management, health, and teaching. My passions are astronomy, fiction, hiking, and gluten free cooking. I'm handy at home repairs, teach many different subjects in home-school co-ops and love working with young kids. I'm currently a Cub Scout leader.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents converted to the church right before I was born, and I saw in their life a love and dedication for the gospel. I wanted more than anything to know for myself it was true. As I've read the Book of Mormon, I've come to know though the power of the Holy Ghost that it is a true book. I've felt a witnessing feeling that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ in it's true form. I have received priesthood blessings throughout my life and have felt of their power. I'm a member of the church because I could never deny the witnesses I've received that the gospel is true. As I live my life according to the teachings of the gospel, I experience peace, happiness, direction, and purpose in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by developing a strong family and serving in the church. We try hard to have meaningful family time to eat, pray, and read the scriptures together despite our busy school, work and service schedules. I currently serve in the women's organization as a music leader and a self reliance teacher. I also get to work with the Scouts as a Bear Den Leader.

What is the Relief Society?

Krissy
The Relief Society is the women's organization in the church. Just as women played an important part in the Church of Jesus Christ when Christ was on the earth, the women play an important role today. They're organized to serve and teach one another and provide essential assistance to the priesthood leaders in serving ward members. Show more Show less
