Hi I'm Melanie

I'm your average, run-of-the-mill, twenty-something, I'm a student, I work in a dental office and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am as busy as can be. I am currently going to school to become a dental hygienist, working in a dental office to get experience, spending as much time as I can with my husband and our Greyhound, Carl, and working with the teenage girls (Young Women) in my ward.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love our Savior, Jesus Christ. He has done so much to allow us to repent, be happy and become fulfilled individuals. I continue to remain a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it makes me happy. I have seen the transformation in other people's lives when they realize their potential and purpose here on earth. As each one of us comes to realize that and follow the commandments of God and the prophets, we can find pure joy for eternity. Who doesn't want that??

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the simple things each and every day. I take it one step at a time, It's not always a walk in the park, no one's life is. I try to read from the scriptures or magazines that are put out by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints daily. The messages found in the scriptures from God, Jesus and past prophets combined with the teachings of modern day prophets are able to give you so much knowledge, comfort and advice. Another thing that helps me live my faith is my praying multiple times a day. This is a great way to feel closer to the Lord and to genuinely talk to him. I am able to be open with him, he is our father after all. The power of prayer is real and can make the worst of times into the best of times. I also work with the youth in my ward. I specifically work with the teenage girls. Teaching them lessons on Sunday about gospel principles, and having activities with them every Wednesday night, allows me the opportunity to be an example to them. They are also an example to me, we lift each other up, build friendships with each other and strengthen the relationship each one of us has with our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is pretty much being a normal human being. The only difference, is you are being your best self, and your happiest self by making the right decisions. The choices we make decide what direction our lives take, and how happy we can be now and for eternity. Show more Show less
