Hi I'm Jake Marble

I'm a goofball. I love serving others. I love being in the outdoors. I'm so happy to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six children and have lived in the warm state of Arizona for most of my life. I enjoy being a big brother and watching out for each one of my siblings. I love to eat and make those late night fast food runs! I love to do all sorts of outdoor activities such as riding dirt bikes, shooting, and camping with friends and family. Additionally, I enjoy playing my guitar and listening to music. I also enjoy singing and have been able to record in a studio. That was an amazing experience! One of my favorite things to do is help people though service as well as generally helping people in any way that I can. I have completed my first semester of college and hope to be able to continue on to graduate school and become a dentist. I'm also considering going into the field of counseling or physical therapy for special needs children. I enjoying running and pushing myself in physical activity. I'm currently serving as a missionary and am loving every single moment of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church into a strong family, but I wouldn't pin point that as the single reason that I am in the church today. I belong to this church because this is the place where I want to be. The church has given me a source of light and hope. Within the church there is a certain bond, and a sense of love and belonging. By applying Mormon values and principles to my life I have been able to build a relationship with my loving Savior Jesus Christ, and I use the term Savior because he has truly saved me. Because I know that Christ loves me, I know that I can ultimately do anything that I put my mind to because I have him on my side. I know that he is always there for me and whenever I need him he will be there with his arms outstretched. I know that because he suffered for my sins that I can be forgiven. To know that brings me such great peace. With my testimony of Christ, I also know The Book of Mormon is true which offers a second witness and testimony of Christ along with the bible. The words written in that book are true and bring about great feelings of peace and happiness to me as well as all those whole will read it with an open mind and heart. Because I am a Mormon I know that I will be able to be with my family forever. knowing that makes everything worth it. There could be no other thing that could bring me more happiness then living forever with those that I love most. It is through being a Mormon that I find my happiness and strength on a day to day basis.

How I live my faith

I have had much experience with helping the youth my age in the church. I have had the blessing of being a quorum president twice where I was able to assist the boys in the youth group that I was over so that all of their needs could be met. I was even able to serve on a committee where I planned activities for a couple hundred youth that would teach them things that would better themselves. I enjoyed the bond that our counsel formed as we striven to meet the needs of all the youth that we represented. Though my faith I have also been able to do much service, which is something that I truly enjoy doing. One time I was able to lead out a project where over 80 school bags were sewn together and filled with school supplies and then sent to a school in Africa where the kids had no supplies. However, my favorite responsibility that I've has is teaching a 6 & 7 year old children's Sunday school class. I loved working with each one of them and not only teaching them, but being taught by them as they taught me many life lessons. As I saw the love that God had for these little ones, I in turn was able to realize how much God loves me as well. As a missionary I will be able to seek those out that are in search for further truth and light and will be able to bring many to what I know to be true and happy.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Jake Marble
Joseph Smith in a lot of senses is like each one of us. In searching his scriptures, he came across James Chapter one verse five. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” He decided that he would do such and pray to decide for himself which church he was to join in order to be saved. He went to a grove of trees outside of his home and offered up the desires of his heart in prayer. He simply asked what church he should join. Upon doing this he said, “I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head… When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” I know with all of my heart that Joseph Smith saw God and his Son Jesus Christ. He was then told that he was to join none of the churches. We do not worship Joseph Smith in any means, but we do see him as the first prophet in these latter days. Joseph Smith dedicated his entire life to serving the Lord and following instruction so that all of the truths that had been lost could be brought back. Ultimately Christ was the one who brought back the truth, but Joseph Smith was the means that was able to bring it to pass. Joseph Smith was truly a noble man that lived and died for his Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, what a magnificent example that is to us. Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Jake Marble
Mormons, or in other words members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, are normal people. We like to have eat, sleep, work, and have fun just like everyone on earth. However, we are a people with a purpose. We know what great rewards we have in store for us after this life and consequently we want to live our lives in the best possible way so that we can attain that wondrous reward. We love to share our message because we want everyone to know of the happiness that can be found in this life as well as the next. I am different yes, but that's because of what I know. My goal is to share that with everyone who will listen. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jake Marble
Many people in this life want proof of everything, but as scripture has told us, in this life we must walk by faith. If we want to know truths regarding God and religion than what better way to find out wether this is true than by asking Him Himself. Now, as part of faith, we must act to show him the desires that we have to really find out if this is true. These actions include reading The Book of Mormon, attending church, learning about the beliefs, and keeping the commandments that we have been given by God. When we do these things we are promised that we will recieve an answer. there is a scripture in The Book of Mormon in the last chapter (Moroni 10:4-5) that states, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." As we make these efforts as this scripture states, God will tell us by the Holy Ghost who is his messsenger of truth, if this things are true or not. I have had this experience myself, and I can truly say that I know this is all true because the Holy Ghost has manifested that truth unto me. I'm young yes, but I know this church is true.
