Hi I'm Amy Jo

I am flight attendant, and a million other things. I come from a blended family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work as a flight attendant and I have a love/hate relationship with my job. I graduated with a bachelors in Recreational Management and Youth Leadership, emphasis in Conservation from Brigham Young University. I love the ocean, the desert and doing anything with fresh air. Being in nature I feel close to my Heavenly Father and therefore at peace. My parents were divorced when I was 8 years old, and both are happily remarried. I have 6 step siblings, 2 half sisters and one full sister. My family is a hodgepodge of beliefs and religions, but me and my mom are LDS.

Why I am a Mormon

When people find out that most of my family members are not LDS, a lot of people ask if I was a convert. Although their definition of convert is someone who was baptized later in life, I always want to answer "yes, I am a convert". I was converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ step by step over the course of my life, and I continue to be converted day after day. First I was a Mormon because I had a mom with a testimony who was also my closest friend. Then I was a Mormon because my childhood best friends family had a life I wanted for myself and my family. I stayed Mormon because I saw that Satan doesn't hold up his end of the bargain. Now I am a Mormon because I have seen, and felt the simple and powerful love that my Heavenly Father has for all His children. I will continue to be a Mormon so that I can grow to be more like my Savior Jesus Christ and have comfort and peace that I am never alone and that my Father in Heaven has a plan for me.

How I live my faith

Because of my job, I am on the road all the time. Its hard to be at church every Sunday, and it has actually been really hard for me. This is why it is so important for me to be active in my personal scripture study and prayer, attending the temple, and church as often as I can. I keep in touch with my ward members and Bishopric so that I can have visiting teachers and home teachers send me messages and visit me in my home as well as being a visiting teacher. The most important way I live my faith, and the most life changing way is through doing the Lords work by serving others. I try to emulate the Savior at work, or where ever I am for work. Living the commandants is what moves my life in a good direction. I have a testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to true joy.
