Hi I'm Devonee

I grew up in Idaho. I come from a very big family. I love to bake. Basketball is the best thing ever invented. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not perfect. I'm most comfortable with just some sweats and a t-shirt than wearing a pair of jeans and a nice shirt. I like my hair down in the mornings and up in the afternoons just because I do. I'd rather wash dishes or mow the lawn than watching TV or being on the computer. I love to take pictures and print them out than just seeing them on a digital screen. My favorite time of day is the time when I walk out to my car in the early morning and when there's only one minute of school left in the day. I like long walks and drives where I can just think. I laugh at everything, because there's no reason for it. I don't get offended or hurt very easily, but when I do, I don't say anything. I used to like singing, but now I prefer to hum (even though when I'm alone, I sing my heart out with the radio). I still watch Disney movies from when I was little. Simple things are my favorite, complicated things are, well, complicated. I think it would be amazing to break out in song like they do in the musicals and not get laughed at. I like happy endings. Basketball and piano are my main hobbies. They help me keep cool and when I'm doing one of them, the whole world disappears.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is one of the things in my life that has stayed the same since I was little. The Church is always there for you, helping you with trials and problems. With out the Church I don't know who I would be, or even how I would get through my days at school. I love being able to talk with the Savior when I pray and I love reading the scriptures. Doing these two things daily comforts me and prepares me for my day. Knowing that I'm not alone with my trials is even a little helpful. Christ went through the same things I have and I am going through right now. He knows how I feel. And I love knowing that he knows.

How I live my faith

I always try to set an example for the youth of the church. I don't drink or consume things that are harmful to my body and I use clean language, even when I'm alone. It's not easy, being in a public school with only four other LDS youth, but I try my hardest. I do service projects with the Young Women in our ward, and I enjoy having the opportunity to be even more like Jesus Christ.
