Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in AZ, and now live in Idaho with my husband. We have happily been married for 2.5 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jessica and I am from Arizona. I am the second of seven children in my family. When I graduated HS I flew to Idaho and started going to school at BYU-I. Shortly after, my cousin set me up on a blind date with her friend and we were married a few months after that. We have been happily married for 2.5 years and love our life. We are not parents yet but hope to be someday. I am currently a student and am studding Early Childhood Development and love it. I work at a childcare facility and enjoy my time there too. I hope to one day influence my own children and children around me in a positive way, and leave the world a little better because of my example.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have always had a testimony. At first I relied on my parents testimony but little by little I was faced with challenges and oppertunities that made me want to know for myself if the church was true. When I was 12 years old, my Beehive leader challenged each of the girls to really pray and ask Heavenly Father if He was truly there and if He knew us personally. I decided to take her up on the challenge and my life has never been the same. I prayed for a few days and each time I had feelings that Heavenly Father was there but I wanted to know if it was just in my head or if my answer was really coming from God. I continued to pray and fast to get my answer and it came a few months later, while I was at girls camp. During one of the spiritual moments we had, I sat down crying and KNEW that Heavenly Father was indeed there and He DID hear and answer my prayers. Ever since that experience, I have known that God is real and He is there for me, and will make Himself present to anyone if they have the desire to know for themselves. I also have a testimony of prayer, I have prayed several times throughout my life and asked questions or just had "one on one time" with my Heavenly Father and some times I talk to him about things that I can'talked to anyone else about. One time I was having a hard time in life and felt like the only person I could turn to was God and so I did. I prayed to Him for council, and one day I got a call and the person said, "I don't know what is going on, but I was prompted to call you and talk to you about life." At that moment, I knew God was in control and He placed another person in my lap that would be able to give me moral support at that time I was in need. Prayers are answered even if it is through another person. I have a testimony of the temple. I am so grateful I am able to be with my husband and family for eternity because of the covenants I have made.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my example. I try to live my life in a way that would be pleasing to Heavenly Father if He were standing next to me. I am not a parent yet, but I work with young children and I try to show them Christ-like love when I am around them. I try to be a person that they like to come to with problems or joys in their life. When I was growing up, I played the piano for any church outing and played the organ in Sacrament Meeting. Ever since then, I offer my talents when I can.
