Hi I'm Sarah Ellis

I'm a high school student from Colorado. I play volleyball and tennis. I am a daughter, sister and aunt and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 19 year old girl and I just finished my first semester of college. I've changed my major about three times already but currently I think I want to go into nursing. I love playing and watching sports. My favorite is volleyball but I also love watching college football on Saturdays. I love watching movies and spending time with my very big family and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My whole life I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up going to church very Sunday and it had become a routine or just the normal thing to do with my family. As a grew up and became a teenager I realized that I didn't know if what I had been taught my whole life was actually true and for a long time I just didn't care to find out if it was or not. Then when I was fifteen my dad had decided to take a new job in a different state. I was really upset and angry because I loved my life and where I was at. We moved in the summer and during that summer I went on a camping trip. Before I was about to leave for a week to go camping with some people that I didn't know I was very nervous and all around really struggling with adjusting to my new life. That night I prayed to have peace and comfort and also to know why I had moved. In my room that night I felt something to warm inside of me. It was almost like a hug. I have no doubt that that was the Holy Ghost sent from Jesus Christ and my Father in Heaven to comfort me and show me that They are there and love me. After that experience had a other times in my life where a have felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost testify to me that this gospel is true and I know that will bring whoever accepts it joy because it has brought me great joy and happiness. I know that God lives and He loves his children. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ gospel again upon the earth and I know we have a living prophet today that leads the true church of Jesus Christ. God would not leave His children helpless without someone to direct them and that is exactly what the prophet is. I love this church and I love the purpose in my life that it gives me.

How I live my faith

During my first semester of college I was asked to prepare and teach a gospel lesson once a month to the other girls in my same area. It was a great opportunity to develop skills like public speaking and just learning how to explain myself. This also gave me the chance to an instrument in the Lords hands as a prepared what I felt He wanted them to hear. With that I develop a deep love and concern for the other girls in my apartment complex. In a very short time I am going to serve a mission for my church in Arizona for a year and a half. I'm dedicating all of time and energy during that period to serving Jesus Christ and doing what He asks of me.
