Hi I'm Ashleigh

I'm a college student, a dreamer, love to have fun, and I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up being LDS. I am the youngest in my family. I love sports. But, I'm not the best at them all. I love to play vollyball, golf, and badminton. I love playing Call of Duty "Black Ops" online with my brothers. I'm big on family. I love hanging out with my friends and going to movies. I love helping others out, and being a good example for others to follow. I love to travel, and have huge travel plans in the future. I am a college student. I love being spontaneous, and accomplishing my goals. Believing in God is very important to me, and having a testimony of Christ's atoning sacrifice is just as important.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a mormon. I didn't always know that this was the true church of God. From God answering my prayers, I knew that there was a God, and that he cared about me. As for knowing that this church was God's church, well, that took some time. I was off and on in the church growing up. But, when I was debating going on my mission, that's when I truely knew. I didn't want to go at first. But, I thought I'd better check with God first, in case he had other plans. I had been debating going on a mission for 2 years. I was off and on about it. Then I finally got my answer from God. And it hit me with such force that I could not deny it. He wanted me to go, and I had to prepare myself to go. So, after that day, I prepared myself to go. That was when I truely started to become converted. I started out with reading The Book of Mormon. After all it is the "Keystone of our religion," or so I'd been told. I had never read it all the way through before. Scriptures were always hard for me to understand, and I never really took much time to understand them. I had never read anything with so much desire and diligence in my life. Things that I had been learning my whole life started to make since. I knew that The Book of Mormon was true before I had finished reading it. But, I thought I'd better put "Moroni's Challenge" to the test and make sure to ask God if it was true. After I finished praying, I knew. With my whole soul, I knew. It is truely the word of God. Even though I grew up in the church, I feel as though I have only been a member for 1 year. I took for granted the things that I was taught in my youth. But, I am making up for them right now. I have so much more to learn and I can't wait to increase my knowledge and understanding of God's plan for me. I am so greatful to have the opportunity to serve God. It is nothing, compared to what he has done for me in my life.

How I live my faith

One day at a time. I read the scriptures everyday, and pray for guidance from my Heavenly Father. I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ everyday. He is the perfect example for us to follow. I try to stay close to the Lord every day. In doing so I keep his spirit with me and I make better choices throughout my week. In everything I do, I do it for him and to bring more happiness into my life. The small and simple things are sometimes the most important. Like daily prayer and scripture study. Going to church on Sunday. As I do these things I am increasing my Faith in Christ and strengthening my testimony of God and his love for his children here on this Earth.
