Hi I'm Jen

I'm a traveler, a cook and a writer. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a student and I want to become a speech therapist. I've had the privilege of traveling extensively in my life. Two of my favorite places are Salzberg Austria where they filmed "The Sound of Music" and also Arizona in the springtime when the oranges bloom. I love to write, especially about anything humorous. I love to run. My greatest running accomplishment is a half marathon. I enjoy cooking and gathering people together for delicious food. I play the piano and have dabbled in trumpet and oboe. My favorite music to play on the piano is Jazz. I volunteered for a full-time proselyting mission in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 18 months--which changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the doctrines of the Gospel bring me peace and happiness. I have felt for myself that the teachings are true. I have prayed about them and I've felt Heavenly Father answer my questions. I know that Jesus is the Christ, He is the Savior of all the world. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, just as the Bible is. Together they testify and teach of Jesus Christ. I know that families are forever, that we can live together for eternity. I know that each of us is has a much grander purpose than we fully realize. I know that I am a child of God, and that brings me great comfort during the good times and the bad times.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect at living my faith, but I am constantly trying to better follow the example of Jesus Christ. I strive to align my life with His teachings because I know it's the path to peace and joy. When I see that something in my life doesn't align with His teachings then I ask for His help and change it. I spend time each day pondering in scriptures and prayer; this helps me learn of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and know what they expect of me.
