Hi I'm Barbara Stacey

I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I find the world a fascinating place to live and I'm always learning something new and interesting about it. I'm an Army wife of 28 years and mother of two, new grandmother of one. My husband is currently serving overseas. We've lived in various US states as well as Germany and I have found things to enjoy everywhere I've gone. I have loved meeting all sorts of people in my travels. Life is a series of learning opportunities for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up surrounded by church members and felt confident that the church had the full gospel of Jesus Christ. When I moved to New York state to become a nanny, I felt pulled in many directions. As I continued to practice my faith and pray, the feelings I had as a youth solidified and my testimony that the true church of Jesus Christ was restored burned brighter than ever. As I have moved and learned more about the world, I see the need for the peace and comfort that comes from knowing our individual worth as children of a loving God and the need we each have for the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

How I live my faith

I have found ways and places to serve everywhere I go. George Eliot said "What do we live for if not to make life less difficult for each other." I believe that with all my heart. I try to live in a way that makes life less difficult for those around me. I have spent the majority of my adult life in some kind of volunteer service and I will continue to do so since it's rewarding to everyone involved. It makes my small corner of the world a better place. In church, I currently teach Sunday school to the adult members of our congregation. This year our curriculum is the New Testament. I love the stories of Jesus and the peace and comfort this book brings to my heart. I enjoy visiting with three of my sisters each month because we strengthen and lift each other through our shared love of the Savior and His gospel.
