Hi I'm Byron

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Byron, and I'm a young father with a wonderful wife. I graduated from college just a couple of years ago shortly after getting married. I've got a good job with a great small company. We live close to one side of our family and try to keep in touch with the other even though my siblings are scattered across the country. I like to bike to work because I live so close and it's great exercise.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, and as a kid I would say I was a little more serious in the gospel as in other things that most other kids. Sometime during late middle school to early high school I gained or re-gained my solid testimony. I think during middle school I had kind of let weekday testimony lax a a little. That is that on Sundays I went to church and participated in passing the sacrament, but I didn't really think about the gospel much or read the scriptures and pray during the week. Freshman year of high school we studied the Book of Mormon in our early morning seminary class. That helped me a great deal in strengthening my testimony. One specific milestone at this time though was when I finished the Book of Mormon. As I had been taught so often to do, and as the the prophet Moroni encourages in the final chapter of the Book of Mormon, I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon were true. When I first prayed that night I did so sitting on my bed where I had been reading. I didn't feel like I got any response. I knew that if I were really sincere I should show it by kneeling, closing my eyes, and bowing my head, so I sort of reluctantly got down from my bed and knelt and prayed.

How I live my faith

I guess the first thing I would say about living my faith is that I try to love and do everything for my family that I think my Father in Heaven would have me do. I try to remain positive and work hard the way Christ did, because beside the content of his teachings the way he led and uplifted those around him inspires me.
