Hi I'm Jeff

I’m a working grandpa. I am the proud father of four married children and eight grandchildren (so far). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am American living and working in Brisbane, Australia. My wife and I are excited to be here. It is the latest best place we've lived in. Whenever we can, we explore Brisbane and Queensland in ever widening circles from our home in West End.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the atonement of Jesus Christ, specifically in His power to redeem me from sin and physical suffering; in the restoration of priesthood power and authority; and in the power of prayer. I am grateful for the stability that the Gospel has brought to my home and family, and the confidence that it helps me have in an uncertain world. I am grateful for the comfort that I have received in moments of personal trial, and the gentle encouragement that I feel to do just a little bit better, every day. My hope in sharing these personal thoughts in this rather impersonal setting is that perhaps they will offer a glimmer of comfort or encouragement to someone who needs it, and to say that I, for one, found these blessings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I try to be tolerant. I hope that I am optimistic and positive. I try to consistently be present and willing to help when there is a job to be done or a helping hand needed. I try to do my best, and to encourage people in worthwhile endeavors. I try to be understanding when others are not at their best. Over the years, I have served in a variety of volunteer church positions. Most of what I know about leadership, organization, working with people and public speaking has been learned in this service. Most of what I know about fun, love, and the power of commitment I learned at home with my family.
