Hi I'm Seth

I'm a missionary, I'm an older brother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child of an Air Force family. I have lived all over the country and have met and have become friends with many different people. The many places I have lived have been a test to me to see how well I can adapt and thrive in new places. I have always done my best in school and extracurricular activities. I love science and want to make a career as a doctor. I will be earning my undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. I chose to attend there because I desire to be in an place where I can thrive academically and spiritually. During middle school and high school, I found that it was difficult to create a spiritually inviting environment around me because most people did not share my moral standards, so I have greatly enjoyed being at Brigham Young University. Also, I am a deep thinker, so I am also extremely happy to associate with so many educated and knowledgable people who share my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently, I am serving a mission in Santiago, Chile, and teaching others about the restored Gospel in the Spanish language. I am very happy to be here!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. As a child, I remember noticing and talking to my friends who were not LDS why they did not go to the same church regularly. They told me it was because their parents could not find a church that they agreed with or where they felt they belonged. I have grown to know over time that everyone is welcome and truly belongs to the Lord's church. Everywhere I have lived, my family and the Church have been the stable things that have helped me do well and grow, and I believe family and a religious faith based on truth and light are key to happiness. We have a Father in Heaven. He watches over everyone without exception and cares for their needs. His plan for everyone is to allow them to progress and achieve what we cannot even imagine for ourselves. Heavenly Father chose Jesus Christ to intercede between Him and us in order for us to learn and grow in the best way possible. Jesus came to Earth to suffer and die for every sin, every imperfection, and every pain that has and will be experienced by each of us. Christ understands us because, although He is perfect, He has experienced our pain and anguish - He has complete empathy for us. We look to Him as our savior and redeemer because of what He has done. No degree of hardship or pain is too difficult or intimidating for us to overcome through Christ, as I have learned for myself. The greatest desire our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have is that we trust them so that we will return to them in purity and confidence. Christ leads His church and appoints prophets to lead and teach His people. Joseph Smith Jr. was the prophet to restore Christ's church in these latter days and bring forth the Book of Mormon as another testament of Christ for all people. All the scriptures testify of Christ. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet that leads His church today, and he truly receives a divine witness of Christ.

How I live my faith

I have done my best to serve others throughout my life. Right now, I am living my faith by dedicating two years of my life to the Lord by serving a mission in Santiago, Chile.
