Hi I'm Sven Uyleman

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. I was raised baptist and had questions that no one could seem to answer, thus my journey begins.

About Me

My journey began when I was in high school when I would periodically go to my baptist church. Things for me did not feel comfortable, something was just not right for me and I could not put my finger on it. I wrestled in high school and two team mates who I would see at parties would not drink beer, smoke pot or anything else for that matter. I would make fun of them and talk a little trash about them because of that. I latter found out that they were LDS and did what they felt was right. This simple act of good behavior on their behalf really started to pave the path for me. Years later, my wife to be who had fallen away and told me about the church and their beliefs. It really made a lot of sense to me and I wanted to get discussions. I did and we started to go to church while I was taking discussions, I had found what I was looking for! My life was slowly changing for the better, she however had no intrest and we dissolved our relationship. I was a wreck and did not know why God had let me go through so much pain by losing her. Years later I met my wife and we now have 5 children and are in good standing with the church. I understand why I had to go through that horrible breakup now, but at the time I really was confused why. From really bad things, God creates opportunities for us to grow and learn. I urge you to take discussions, read ponder and pray...pray a lot. This church is absolutely true and if you truly want to know that, you need to take the next step.

Why I am a Mormon

I came to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because everything made sense to me. I played devils advocte and tried to find the "angle" on the Church. I mean, why would someone want to be a bishop, they don't get paid what they do. After looking and trying to understand the Church, everything really made sense to me. It is my own personal believe that Heavenly father does not want to make picking his Church to be difficult to find or understand. Some of the key reasons that I joined are as follows: + No one in the Church gets paid for their work(s). + Families can be sealed for time and all eternity + Everyone in the Church gets to work all get to teach at some point. + We handle Church business every Sunday in front of everyone. + Members of the Church help decide who has what calling. + Fantastic value system that is taught to everyone in a loving way. + Constantly teach non religious things that benifit ourselves and our families (words of wisdom, food storage, husband/wife responsibilities to each other.

How I live my faith

I don't try to be rough around the edges, but I am and it is a constant struggle. I try to be a good example of what a "typical" Mormon (what is a typical Mormon look like anyway?) is suppose to be like. I try to be on time for Church and be prepared for lessons on Sunday and speak like I should be even when no one is listening. For me, my struggles and challenges will never go away, but I try to do as Heavenly father has commanded me to do. I know me and my family will get blessing if I just do what is right, and let the consequences follow.
