Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a mother of four and I've lived on both the east and west coasts. I like to work in the yard and visit the beach.

About Me

I love to learn. When I'm not homeschooling the kids or burning dinner, you can find me soaking in the tub with a good book. My husband, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, thinks I'm a little strange for raising chickens in our backyard, but it's been a fun new hobby for me. I have lived in 8 different states in this great U.S. of A. and visited 9 foreign countries. THey were all fantastic places, but the place I love to be most is home.

Why I am a Mormon

As the third of four children, I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by parents who were baptized into the church during their college years. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to learn about God's plan of happiness for me from my very first days on earth. However, like all seekers of truth, I had to know for myself if the things I had been taught were really true. By consistenly living the principles I had been taught, by studying the gospel throughout my youth, and by praying for my own answers I learned for myself that belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and following its teachings was the only way for me to obtain real joy in this life and in the hereafter. I am grateful that had an opportunity to serve a mission for the church and share my knowledge of God's plan with more of His children.

How I live my faith

I try first, to live my faith within the walls of my own home. Monday nights are reserved for family time when we have a brief religious lesson for the kids, an activity and (if I have the energy) a special treat. We try to read the scriptures outloud with our children on a regular basis. We're not perfect at this yet. Life gets busy and sometimes we forget. But we try. We also study the Old Testament with them in our homeschool. I've had lots of opportunities to participate in church activities and serve in different capacities. Currently, I am part of a commitee that plans and executes monthly activies and service projects for our women's organization. I look forward to being at church every SUnday to be with the other members of our faith, welcome new friends, and be inspried by true teachings. At church I have learned to implement important gospel truthes in my life such as praying, fasting, paying tithes, serving others, and focusing on the family as our most important earthly pursuit. We very much enjoy hosting the Mormon misisonaries in our home and feeding them dinner while they are far away from their families sharing the Lord's message with others in our area. THey are a joy to have in our home.
