Hi I'm Elin

I am just like you. I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a grand-daughter, a friend, a student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five kids and grew up in Northwestern Ontario on the western tip of Lake Superior. With being the youngest I had to learn early on how to make my voice be heard otherwise I was overlooked. So, to say the least - I love being the comic relief and having a good laugh with family and friends. I love learning and experiencing new things. I have found that my adventurous nature has actually come out more with age and I find thorough enjoyment when I can share insights and thoughts with others. I think that there is so much in this world to learn and I try to find every opportunity to broaden my horizons.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life, I have had moments when I have had experiences that have brought me to deep soul searching. These are times where I questioned my beliefs and my values from my youth. During these times, I found that I had to build my own relationship with the Lord. I found Him as I have studied the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon), learn of different religions, and earnestly prayed and asked to know if God and Jesus Christ live and to know what I should do in my life. Each day that I live, I strengthen my own testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ true. The fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel is the gospel that is taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The personal revelation that I have and do receive teaches me of my own divine worth and of the love that God and Jesus Christ have for me. I discovered that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and each one of us. This earthly experience is a time to prepare to meet God. We are on a journey to have experiences in life. These experiences can be joyous or difficult, but if we do all that God asks of us; He promises us that He will help us along our way. We are not alone. God has sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to come to this earth - to be an example for us and to be our Savior and Redeemer. This knowledge gives me the strength to carry on each day to do my best and to know that after all I can do that the love and mercy of Christ will fill what I cannot do alone. The Atonement of Jesus Christ fills me with hope for a better tomorrow.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to find something that will bring me and others to laughter. We are to have “joy” in our lives and whenever there is an opportunity where I can bring laughter to a situation I seize the opportunity. This past year I have moved back home to help my ailing mother. This service has taught me better to understand the great love that that Savior exemplifies in His own services. I try to apply His teaching every day and to be able to see what I am to learn. I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for His love for me.
