Hi I'm Stacy Ann Jacobsen

I'm a wife and mother. I am a photographer. I find beauty in everything. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of three boys. I have an amazing job that allows me to find beauty in everything around me. I see the world differently than most. I am romanticized by human relationships, and the wonderful capabilities of the heart. I find joy in capturing emotion and movement with every click of the shutter. I love to travel. Being a photographer, I have the opportunity to visit wonderful places and meet some of the best people. I am blessed to be able to take my family with me on these new and exciting adventures. Likes... county fairs, farmers markets, extra large balloons, anything lime or cherry flavored, the color orange, vintage robots, indian food, striped paper straws, scarves Halloween is my favorite holiday I am allergic to almost everything I picked up my first professional camera 11 years ago (yeah, it was film) I lived in australia Even the smallest holiday deserves an all out party I have a chair obsession I love the way red apples look, but not the way they taste, so they go rotten on my counter Dislikes... the news scary movies geometry spelling and grammar bananas My husband and my three sons are trying to convert me to Star Wars. I am resistant. My husband is a musician but he has yet to write a song for me. I guess he can't find the perfect melody.

Why I am a Mormon

When I heard the message of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, my life went from black and white to color. I was baptized into the church at the age of 18. I was the only member of my family who joined the church. I felt closer to my Savior than I ever had in my life, and I had an infinitely greater understand of His sacrifice and the gift of the atonement. It was as though I went from hearing about Christ to knowing Christ. My life had more purpose and direction. I gained an eternal perspective. I was no longer worried about eternity. I remember the missionaries asking me how I felt. The best word I could think of to describe what my soul felt was "yellow." It was warm, happy, sunshine. It is an indescribable feeling to know that I am a daughter of God. He knows my wants and needs. He knows my struggles. He wants to bless me. He does bless me every moment of my life. He has given me all that I have. Heavenly Father loves me beyond measure. Having my own children helps me to understand what it is to love someone unconditionally. I want my children to know everyday of their lives that God is their loving Heavenly Father. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. I find so many similarities between my life in this modern age and the lives of those in the Book of Mormon. I feel as though the answers to many of my problems and trials are simply stated within it's pages. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and feel Christ's love for me every time I read it.

How I live my faith

I find so much happiness in serving others. I know that as a follower of Christ, it is my responsibility to help and serve his sheep in anyway that I can. When I am thinking of Christ, it is hard to do anything but serve others. I have had many church responsibilities. I have had the pleasure of teaching the young children. It is breathtaking to see the light in their eyes as they learn about Christ and His life. I have taught the young women and found strength in their steadfastness in the teachings of the gospel. They are an amazing example to me along with their friends and classmates. It is a wonderful thing to know teenagers that have high moral standards and respect themselves, their bodies, their families and God.
