Hi I'm Eric Peterson

I am from a small town in Idaho; I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful wife, and a dad to the best son in the world. I love being a dad, and seeing my son makes everyday worth while and working hard for them makes me happy. My wife and I are both going to college. My wife is going to school to be an English teacher, and I am gong so I can do accounting. It is a big struggle to raise a family, go to school, and work; at the same time striving to succeed at it all. We pull through it together, and doing that brings us closer together.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been so blessed to be born and raised knowing the principles of the church, but that is not why I chose to be a member of His church. I went through a large trial to the point that I almost did not choose that way, through a lot of trial and error I began to tune in to what makes people happy. The lifestyle I was leading, and looking for that type of happiness, only brought me temporary happiness. I remember waking up every morning and was back at the grind to "make myself happy," only to find that same revolution to take place 24 hours later. It was not working. I tried various routes, then I was finally so depressed and angry and felt like there was no where to turn, I prayed, and distinctly remember requesting for one thing..."help me." I remember that I had forgotten that prayer only to find myself in a position that I had two distinct choices; keep doing what I was doing, or choose a different lifestyle. I figured that the first was not working for me, so I chose the second option. I stayed close to my family and decided to pick up the Book of Mormon. That book filled me with hope. What else can I say, the hope it filled me with could only be the hope that Heavenly Father blesses His children with. I read it all the way through and decided to ask, in prayer, if it was true. I knelt there for a long time. I let my thoughts remember what I had read and how it made me feel. I no longer woke up wanting more. I was trying to make others happy; not myself. I know that those things I read were from God. I know Jesus Christ is my savior, He has redeemed me from unhappiness. I know the Book of Mormon is a word of God. I am forever grateful that I chose this way; for there is no greater happiness known than by raising a family in the way of truth and righteousness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by faith. Everyday I encounter a trial, I overcome that trial by faith. I actively contribute to the church by fulfilling a calling. I help the men in the ward to come closer to the Savior by increasing their faith in Him. I teach from what the prophets and apostles have taught in previous church meetings on occasional months. I help with sacrament, which we partake of every Sunday. My wife and I regularly contribute to a fund that helps the church do what it needs to do. Doing these things helps me further increase my faith that Jesus Christ lives today, and helps those who stand in need of His help. I know He lives, and stands as the head of this church, the Church that bares His name.
