Hi I'm Curtis

I'm a husband and father of three. I love sports, camping and gardening, and I am grateful to be a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in Idaho, with two brothers and two sisters. I attended Utah State where I met my beautiful wife. We moved to Utah and have been blessed with three great kids. We love hiking, camping, fishing and sports. We cheer for Duke (basketball), Utah Jazz, BYU, Real Salt Lake and Manchester United. Yes, I graduated from the University of Utah, but I cheer for BYU. As my wife told my grandmother, "his diploma is red, but his blood is blue." We try to travel when we can squeeze it in between kids soccer, Scout camps, band and orchestra performances, etc. etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church and was well taught by my parents. I relied much on their testimonies when I was young, and mirrored what they did. I never doubted the Church was true, but I had to learn and know it for myself. Just like anybody investigating the Church, I studied the scriptures and I prayed to know. I have received and continue to receive peaceful confirmations that I am on the right path. By no means am I perfect; however I have come to know of the love that God has for all of His children. And because He loves us He wants us all to return to him. Because of our imperfections He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins. I am so grateful that Jesus Christ fulfilled His mission, and I know that because of His sacrifice, I can be forgiven of my sins and return to live with my Father in Heaven. He also provided us families where we can learn to love, share, communicate and serve. My family isn't perfect, but I couldn't imagine living without them in this life or the next.

How I live my faith

For the past five years I have been working with the youth in my ward and stake. I love being with them, because they help me feel younger and give me hope for the future. I have the opportunity to serve as a home teacher, having my sons for companions. I have come to know many wonderful youth, and great adult leaders who continue to strengthen my testimony faith.
