Hi I'm Emma

I'm a missionary out in Arizona serving the Lord and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am 19 years of age, from Colorado, and the oldest of six kids. I just finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University in Provo and absolutely LOVED it! My favorite things in the world are: playing sports, being outside, laughing, dancing, singing, and spending time with the people I love most (my family and close friends). But most importantly: In October's General Conference in 2012, President Thomas S. Monson announced the missionary age change for both boys and girls. The age for boys was lowered from 19 to 18 and for girls, 21 to 19. From the age of 16 I knew I wanted to serve a mission, and I knew immediately that the age change meant that I was going on a mission within the next year! So, I started my papers in February of 2013 and got my papers in the beginning of March, then received my call two weeks later! I have been called to serve in the Arizona Gilbert Mission, Spanish-Speaking. I leave on August 21st for the Mexico Missionary Training Center! I am so excited to be able to serve the Lord in Arizona for 18 months! I know it is exactly where He wants me to be and what He wants me to be doing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I became an official member at the age of 8, and have been ever since. I would like to make it clear that I am a Mormon by choice, not by the pressure or force of my parents. Why? Because it is the ultimate source of happiness in my life. Jesus Christ made it possible for me, despite all the mistakes I've made, to find joy in this life, to stay on the straight and narrow path that returns to my Heavenly Father. I know that I am a child of God and He wants me to be happy. I also know that because of the great Plan of Happiness He has for us, I am able to be with my family for time and all eternity! My family is everything to my and the knowledge that we will be together forever brings so much happiness and joy into my life. This is why I am a Mormon, and furthermore a missionary. I want to share this joy, happiness, love and hope that I have because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all Heavenly Father's children that live here in Gilbert, Arizona!

How I live my faith

My faith is #1 in my life. Therefore, I strive to live as my Savior would have me live by following his commandments, serving others, and keeping my body clean. Going to church is the best, and it definitely gets me through the week. I love to participate in Young Women's and mutual activities. Charity is vital in my life. I have a passion for serving others and find great comfort and individual betterment through charity. Along with that, sharing the gospel is my very favorite thing to do. I had the truly amazing and special opportunity of sharing the gospel with my best friend, Michelle (look for her profile, it's probably cooler than mine). I strongly feel that she did me more good than I could have ever have done for her. Watching her develop a beautiful and genuine testimony of Christ and this gospel, helped me fortify my own testimony in a time where I was struggling. She was baptized June 12, 2011. That experience will forever be close to my heart and continually encourages and reminds me to share the gospel with everyone and anyone. I love being a Mormon, and I'm not afraid to show it.
