Hi I'm Lann

I'm a black belt in Karate, an Adv. Open Water SCUBA Diver, I play the Violin, President of the local BMW chapter - I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had a wonderful childhood with two parents who worked very hard to provide for our family. My mother was a stewardress with Pan Am (same uniform as the TV show) and my father is an architect (now retired) who studied with Frank Lloyd Wright. My parents did everything they could to provide a well rounded life for me. I ran track in H.S. played football, soccer, baseball and took Karate for 7 years. I played the voilin and have my Adv. Open Water Scuba Cert. An amazing start on life, right!? HOWEVER, Life has had it's challenges, but somehow I've survived. My first marriage didn't work the way I thought it would and ended in a bitter divorce w/ 3 kids caught in the middle who bounce back and forth w/ 2 different sets of rules/standards. In time, I found the love of my life and we've been married for 12 years. We started our own businesses, which was great, only to have employees steal all the funds from our accounts and max out the credit cards. So, a couple years ago,we started over from scratch. To say life has been difficult is an understatment. I helped to create a financial firm that helps educate people to avoid investment mistakes and keep their hard earned money and my wife owns a small business helping business owners protect their companies. The only thing that has kept us going through our up's and down's is our family, a few friends and a rock solid faith in Christ. We've learned so much and are so thankful we have the "whole truth" the gospel provides.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the mormon church, but my mother is a convert who heard the gospel from missionaries in Holland. I grew up with a group of great friends who helped me stay away from most of the bad influences of the world. But, it wasn't until I committed to servie a mission for our church and was sent to Japan, that I received my own personal witness that the church really is the re-organized original church of Christ. I've read the Book of Mormon several times now, but once I started praying about it to know if it really is true or not, I received a personal witness of it's truthfulness. No matter what anyone tells you, you need to know for yourself! Read the promise in Moroni 10:3-5, page 529, and then put it to the test. You'll get a personal answer, I promise. The power of the answer I received completely overwhelmed me and changed my life.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church, I've had alot of opportunity to serve others. I've held various leadership position and today I'm a Sunday School teacher for 11years. It's one of the very best and most rewarding positons I've ever held. I'm also a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and yes, that means I camp and sleep on rock! But the boys have a great time and learn alot, which is what it's all about. I live my faith one day at a time, I pray alot, hope alot, laugh alot, read the scriptures and try to be a good example and do my best to be respectful of those around me.
