Hi I'm Cory

I'm a Mormon. I'm from Monroe and I study at Utah State University.

About Me

I like to cook, mainly I cook cookies but I also cook my own food since I'm at college. I read books as much as I have time for, 3-6 a year, I do a lot of my reading in the summer when I have time off of school and I am the proud owner of a kindle. I like sports and just playing any type of game, this is how I get out and have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born to a faithful member family. They taught me about Jesus Christ and read the book of Mormon with me. When I was in high school it seemed that I needed to gain a testimony of my own, my freshman year in high school I attended what we call seminary which is a class that teaches us about the scriptures the Bible and the Book of Mormon. When I first started out I didn't participate that much, I didn't feel it that important to excel in it, but later I found out that it was becoming the class that I looked forward to each day, I would make it to class as early as I could, I found that I was growing my own testimony. My testimony is simple, I know that Jesus Christ lives, I know that he loves us and I know that he knows me personally. I know that the book of Mormon is the word of God and testifies of Christ as does the Bible. And I know that I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

I attend classes that teach me about my faith, I am currently learning about the Book of Mormon and the Old Testament. I have a home teaching assignment that I'm assigned to teach my neighbors, this helps to make it so that everyone in our church feels welcome and cared for personally. I also serve on an activities committee where we plan events like dances and events that help bring us closer and have a healthy place to socialize with people with the same values as our own, others who are not members of our faith may attend our church meetings but if they feel a little intimidated they can attend these activities as well.

What is faith?

Faith is being willing to trust your life into God's hands. It is believing in Christ and that he is God's son and he loves you and will forgive you if you repent. It's an action word, if you want to have more faith you have to be willing to get up and do something about it. If you don't have faith I would suggest that you pray to have a desire to have faith and then experiment on the promises that God give us in the scriptures. Show more Show less
