Hi I'm Callie

I'm 16. I'm a blogger. I'm a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah. My family moved to Nashville when I was 5. I used to walk down the street to my ward building; now it takes 20 minutes to get to the closest one. A few years ago, I was the only Mormon to go to my school. It was sometimes hard to be the only member, but I love being the one everyone asks for questions... and most kids in my grade have had plenty. At my high school, there is finally another member in my grade. It feels good knowing I have someone to talk to who understands why I do what I do. School is tough, but I love it. Music and math are my passions. I could sing and solve equations all day and sometimes it feels like it with the amount of homework my teachers give. I am in my school's concert choir, women's choir, and chamber choir, as well as my ward choir and the Nashville Community Choir. Singing is a wonderful way to express your feelings and beliefs and that is how I do it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I love it with all of my heart. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know in my heart that its teachings are true. Joseph Smith was a true prophet who restored His gospel and every prophet since him has also been called of God to serve His people. My faith is what keeps me going.

How I live my faith

Every morning before school, I go to a class called seminary where we learn about The Bible, The Book of Mormon, and The Doctrine and Covenants of my church. It is organized for youth to go to in their last four years before graduating high school. Every day that I go brings me closer to The Spirit and helps me feel closer to Heavenly Father. I try every day to live by the teachings of the gospel and try to be an example to the people around me. I also run a twitter account where I can spread the gospel and answer questions for anyone who has them.
