Hi I'm Wendy

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am married, have a beautiful baby girl, have the best two dogs, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love nature. With my family I go hiking, rappelling, lake kayaking, camping, tree climbing, rock climbing, a tiny bit of caving, etc... I enjoy being surrounded by the trees, desert, and mountains. I also love doing crafts such as making beanies, scarves, tie blankets, etc... I like to try new things out and learn new talents and skills. I also love to work out and teach it. I am currently a certified personal trainer (I train out of my home). I love to listen to people and help them with their problems. I have had many friends call me their counselor, as I both listen and advise them. I love animals of all types and have had many different types of animals as pets in the past. I also like to help rehome dogs and have fostered many dogs in the past. My husband and I own 2 wonderful dogs. Our 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd Chow mix, Kodiak, I rescued before my husband and I were married and our 1 1/2 year old Sheltie Chow mix, Kida, we adopted together after six months of marriage. I enjoy taking them to the dog park and they go with us on our hikes and vacations. We are now adding to our family with our first child- very excited for our baby girl- born March 4, 2014. Getting the house all baby proofed. I also Love the Gospel! I love to attend all of my meetings and I enjoy going to the temple. I enjoy sharing the truthfulness of the gospel with others and hearing their beliefs as well. In short, I enjoy almost anything that is wholesome, fun, and recreational.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but that is not the reason I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know for myself through prayer and personal revelation (answers from God through his Holy Spirit). I have studied the scriptures both the Book of Mormon and the Bible and have prayed to know if they are true. I received my answer at age 7 after my first time reading through both of these sacred texts. I know that they are true, I know that Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet for no false prophet could have translated/created true doctrine. I know the Book of Mormon is true, that God has not changed, and He loves us so much He has given us prophets to guide us, revelation, and the power of the Priesthood on Earth once again. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, Brother, and Redeemer who truly atoned for all of us and that God the Father and His son Jesus Christ are two separate beings who are one in purpose. The sacred covenants of olden times are restored and I am blessed to be able to make and keep these sacred covenants of Baptism and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost (the comforter) and Temple covenants: Endowment (God's gift to aid us so we can return to Him) and Sealing (families become eternally bound or connected). I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church upon the Earth containing the fullness of Christ's gospel. I know for myself these things are true and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. I try to help all those that I encounter and I serve members in my church. I visit with sisters (ladies in my church) that are going through hard time. I bring them messages of comfort and give them someone who they can talk to. I visit with some of the elderly in my community. I talk with them and give them council when asked. I bless others lives through using my gifts of compassion, charity (unconditional love), promptings from the Holy Ghost (inspiration to say or do something to help one of God's children), and work. I love to do for others and be actively engaged in helping others emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Anyway that I can be of service to anyone I know. Not all those I help are Mormon for that is not our religion. Mormons are to care for all of God's children and that is one way that I live my religion. I do service to those who have passed on by going to the temple of God often to perform sacred ordinances and covenants in proxy for them. I give of my time and energy so they may have the same blessing that I have and it is no sacrifice in my mind, only a joy. I love to not only render service but to teach and share the gospel as well. I have taught many lessons (35min lessons) in my church and given talks (about 15min talks). I have taught the young women (teenagers), the youth (again teenagers of both genders), and the Relief Society (which is the adult women in our church). Teaching is one of my favorite things to do. I love to hear what others have to say and I love to be able to share my testimony (what I know to be true) with them. I love to help others truly think and ponder to know for themselves what they believe and what they know to be true. It isn't good enough for me that I know, the gospel makes me so happy that I want everyone else to know for them self and have that same happiness. I live my faith in so many ways. To me, the most important way I live it is through service.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

There are so many reasons why Mormons go on missions and why they proselyte, but I will just tell you the one main reason. Mormons go on missions because they are so happy and excited that the true gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored on the Earth for us to have and they wish to be able to let everyone be a part of this great message that brings so much joy into the lives of all those who will listen, seek to know of its truth, and become truly converted in their hearts and minds. It is a message of glad tidings. Who wouldn’t want to share (or proselyte) such a great joy with the entire world? Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Lets take a step back in order to be able to know why family is so important to us. Where did we come from? Before this Earth life was a PreEarth life. Here we were spirit sons and daughters of God. We lived with our Heavenly Father (God) and were taught and prepared to follow a plan, The Plan of Happiness. It is God's plan and the only way we could ever become like our loving Heavenly Father. In this plan we are to come to Earth, we will be given all that we need to be able to make it back to the Father. He has given us Jesus Christ (with out the atonement of Jesus Christ there would be no hope and no way back to our Heavenly Father), Agency (the right to choose good or evil), Prophets, Scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon), and Revelation (answers from God to us through the Holy Ghost, revelation can come as a voice, a vision, but usually just as a simple sweet peace in our hearts that lets us know truth). We would not remember any of our life with God, if we remembered then we would not have to have faith. This life is a test, a time to grow and become all that we can be. He gave us families to help us in this life and in the life to come. The life to come? This is where we are going after this Earth life is done. We will one day all be resurrected and when we make covenants to be sealed to our families and live worthy of those covenants, we live with our families again. Families are Eternal, that is why they are so important to us. That loving bond never has to end. Show more Show less
