Hi I'm Hunter Silvester

I make metal art sculputeres. I just graduated High School. I love working with my hands to make things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im young and I just got out of High School. I love to work with my hands, construction, weilding, manufacturing, engineering, woodworking, and so much more. I also enjoy working with animals in any way, especially marine animals. I one day hope to be able to become a marinebiologist, studying the marine life and the marine ecosystem. I also strive to one day be a good father to children and I hope to be able to provide them with a good home and a stable environment in which they can grow up in and become well rounded individuals that come to love the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with out a shadow of a doubt that what I have been taught is truth. I have come to find out by praying to my Heavenly Father and recieving an answer through the Holy Ghost, whom is a member of the Godhead. He testifies of truth in all things, and he did that for me as i asked with real intent (which means praying with the intent of getting an answer). I am a Mormon because I came to a knowledge of it through a simple prayer, and i know that anyone can do this and find out for themselves as well.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by keeping the commandments that God has set in place for me. I also live my faith by simply living in a way that is in harmony with the things that Jesus Christ did and does for each of us. I try my hardest to be an example to those around me and I make sure to care for everyone I meet because they are children of out Heavenly Father as well and they diserve respect just as much as I do. Everyone deserves to be loved and to be cared for no matter what their circumstance. God loves us all, so, shouldn't I also?

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Hunter Silvester
The simple answer to "who chooses the prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?" is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ put his name on the chruch and therefore he chooses who will guide it, and the prophet he has chosen for this dispensation is Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Hunter Silvester
Mormons are not required to sereve a mission at all. I have a been a member of the church my whole life and i have read the scriptures and studied the doctrine and never once have i come accross anything that said "you can not enter the kingdom of heaven if you do not serve a mission." A mission is voluntary and a privilege. Missionaries are not paid, and while they are serving they are official representative of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Hunter Silvester
The First vision is the single most important exsperience of all other exsperiences know to man for these days! With out the First vision the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would not exsist. What is it? It was the appearence of the Savior of the world Jesuse Christ and his Father our Heavenly Father, to a young 14 year old boy who simple but honestly wanted to know where the true church was. Never before in any account of scripture or religious artifact has Both the Father and the Son appeared to someone at the same time. Important much? YES. so important infact that BOTH of them did infact visit Joseph Smith in that grove of trees so that the gospel of Jesus Christ could be restored so that the people of the earth could have the opportunnity to one day reunite with God the Father. I leave you with this challenge to find out for your self if it is true, and i promise Heavenly Father will give you that answer! Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Hunter Silvester
We need a savior because one day we will have the opportunity to live with God our Heavenly Father again, and it is only through the savior Jesus Christ that we can get in. God loves us all but he set some rules/commandments in place and we must follow them if we are to live with him again. However we are not perfect and we do make mistakes, and it is through Christ and his Atonement that we can make it. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Hunter Silvester
When we go to chruch we wear the best thing we can find in our closet. Whether that be jeans and a t-shirt or a suit. It does not matter. All people are welcome to come to church and worship the Savior Jesus Christ. Mormons celebrate all Holidays that apply in the area where they live. Christmas and Easter are the two most meaninful holidays in that they remind us of the birth, death and resurection of Jesus Christ. Mormons also celebrate birthdays and all other similar events like it. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Hunter Silvester
YES! Infact I know there is a prophet on this earth in these days, I also know that there is apostles as well. I have witnesses the power and authority that comes from the prophet. I have gone to General Confrence (which is where the apostles and prophet and other prayerfully selected speakers speak whith member of the church and also to anyone else who wants to whatch) with a prayer in my heart that a question I have will be answered and during the last Confrence that we had my question was answered within the first 5 sentances that came out of the mouth of the first speaker. Whom is an apostle of the Lord. The Prophet and his apostles are all men of God and they are very inspired and they know what the world needs to hear. Show more Show less
