Hi I'm Shane Theel

I grew up in a small town in Washington. I'm a gear head, a metal head and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have been playing baseball since I was able to walk. I learned how to hit the baseball with a fish club and played until I was 18. I have always loved to work outdoors. Ever since I can remember my dad and grandpa taught me how to work and the importance of working hard. I absolutely love cars and anything that is propelled by a motor. I restored a 1972 Plymouth Scamp my senior year in highschool with my father. It was painted satin black and had 5.2 liter, 318 cubic inch v8 in it. I loved to cruise in it after a stressful day and occasionally burn the rubber right off the tires.I drove it until i sold it to go to college at BYU-Idaho. College was a lot of fun and I wish that everyone would go. It helped me prepare for my mission and for some of the struggles we all face through life. I have had my fair share of heart aches, mistakes, and disappointments, but you always get through em. Life isn't always easy, but God will always help us. I am the oldest of 4 children. I have a younger sister and two younger brothers. My parents are amazing and have helped me so much. I love 80's music and on days when I'm feeling a little country I jam to country. I love being a little different and create my own style at times. Even when it ain't fashionable I'll probably be wearing it. Whether it be a members only jacket or cowboy boots with shorts. I just love to live life and have a amazing time while doing it. Why not, you only get to live once.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but at times I wondered if it was really true. I struggled to believe and events in my life effected that even more. One night I decided to ask Heavenly Father (God) if the Book of Mormon was true and if He was there. If the Book of Mormon is true then Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is literally Jesus Christs church on the earth today. As i was praying an overwhelming feeling came over me and I knew in my mind that it was true, but more importantly I knew in my heart that it was true. I could not deny the witness that the Holy Ghost gave me that night that I asked God if the Book of Mormon was true. I was 18 when this happened and ever since then I have gone to church and have had a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ. As well as the Knowlede of the Book of Mormon being another testament of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet called by God. I Love my Heavenly Father so much and thank him everyday for the life he has given me. This knowledge has given me a purpose in life, a reason to keep pushing forward and taking on lifes challenges each day at a time. I am in no way perfect and I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ who suffered for my sins so I can repent and be forgiven and live with God again.True happiness comes from knowing i'm a child of God and through living the gospel of Jesus Christ that he taught during his ministry.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. It is a lifestyle. I try to give all I have to the Lord and strive to follow everything that he asks me to do. Each day I look for opportunities to serve people who i meet or to make atleast one person smile. I say if you make someone smile or make their day better than it was, then it has been a successful day. I try to look at everyone as God's children and to love all of them. It is very difficult at times though. I read from the scriptures everyday and a saying I have is "A chapter a day, keeps Satan away". It really does help give me a boost and have more joy when i read my scriptures everyday. At times we fall and have to pick ourselves back up. But it's impossible to keep stumbling if we get on our knees. When I'm down I always rely on Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ to help lift me back up. We will never be perfect in this life, but as I strive to be better each day that is all God asks of us. To be the best we can each and every day. As we strive to be the best we can our Savior makes up for the rest through His sacrifice for us. We grow daily. All we have to do in order to be in a state of grace is take 2 steps forward for every one step back. It aint bout how hard we can hit it's bout how hard we can get hit and keep pushing forward. How much we can take and keep moving forward. Thats what life is all about.
