Hi I'm Jorden

I'm a Learner, a Dreamer, and a Writer. I've lost 95lbs. I Love God with all my Heart, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student to be. I am very excited by the idea of learning and applying myself in the world. I'm working hard now so I can secure for myself the best possible future I can. There is a thrill that comes with schooling. To learn so mysterious influence that drives the actions and reactions of our universe is a major driving force in my life. I feel very much that I am here to add my small part to the orchestra of humanity. I try to be active in a little bit of everything. I am a Lacrosse player, and I have been playing the violin for six years now (someday I hope to actually be good). I spend a lot of my free time involved in a good story of some kind. I watch movies, play video games, and read a lot of books. I am captured by the characters and the worlds that they live in. I enjoy placing myself in their shoes and contemplate what I would do if I were there. I have lost 95lbs within the past year. I had always been a heavy set individual and thought I would always be. Suddenly, I was blessed to lose my appetite. I worked out, ate right, and controlled myself. I was strengthened by my friends and I stand a healthy 185. I am so grateful to God, because this miracle didn't come from me.

Why I am a Mormon

I really came into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by myself. I was baptized by my father at eight years old, but by the time I was fourteen, I wasn't going to any church. I was much caught up in my own struggles as my parents had a divorce and I found myself spending a lot of time alone and without much guidance. My parents love me dearly, and I love them. But my spiritual life was fading away. I always knew there was a God, but I felt no attachment to Him. I was then invited to a church camp with my cousins. It was there that I learned that my Father loved me. I felt his love for myself, and I knew that he was there. I also took several years of Seminary and learned the basics of the Gospel of Christ. I am forever indebted to many teachers and instructors who gave their own time and talents to help shepherd a lost sole unto Christ. I later served a Mission, helping to bring others to Christ. It was there that I learned what an amazing gift that Christ has given us. I am a Mormon because I believe in Christ!

How I live my faith

I am a careful individual. I think things through before I do anything and I try to predict the outcome. I believe God gave me a mind for a reason, and I trust in the knowledge that I have. I also know that I don't know everything. So then I listen for the Spirit to direct my actions. I trust that God loves me, and when I feel a thought, more than I think it, I go with it. I have been saved both physically as well as spiritually for listening to that still small voice. I look to the example of my Savior to know how to act. How did he treat the poor, the hungry, or the sick? He showed unconditional love and honor toward all men. He looked on the heart and gave men the benefit of the doubt. When they sought him, he listened. When they cried, he wept with them. When he died, he gave life eternal. I live my faith by loving Him.
