Hi I'm Eric

I'm an Iraq War Veteran. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a missionary, a computer network system administrator, a Soldier and Platoon Sergeant in the U.S. Army through three tours in Iraq, a missile systems repairer, a network technician, a programmer and anything else anybody needed me to do. I love blacksmithing, welding, carpentry, fabricating, electronics, computers, looking at the stars and the wilderness, my wife, my son and daughter, my grandson, and my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and although I have had many challenges in my life, my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Plan for us have always been a source of comfort and peace in my heart. There have been several times when I have let myself slip away from actively participating as a member of His Church, yet no matter how many struggles I face or how many times I could have slipped away in disbelief, in my heart I have felt the truth of His Gospel and of the Restoration of His Church and in our living prophets. It may not be easy most of the time, but it is right.

How I live my faith

My injuries from my service in the military often make many daily tasks difficult for me, and often I feel overwhelmed by the world around me. By moments of silent prayers and because of the love I feel for and from my family, the members of my ward (congregation) and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I feel peace in my heart and mind and though I may not understand why I face the challenges that I do, I know that I will have the strength and ability to overcome those struggles.
