Hi I'm Cheryl and I am a Mormon

I was adopted at 6 weeks old to a Mormon Family. My birth Mother requested that I be raised Mormon.

About Me

I am a Daughter, Wife, Mother, Friend, & Grandmother. I teach a Floral Design Internship Class with High School Students and LOVE my job. I have Four Outstanding children and 8 Grandchildren (so far). They are the joys of my life. I enjoy anything that has to do with Flowers and Family. Flower arranging, gardening, decorating. They make me smile and bring me peace. It also reminds me what a blessing of nature our Heavenly Father has blessed us with. My future goal is to build a vegetable garden. Also spending time with my family brings me the greatest amount of joy. As I watch my family grow I am in amazement of my many blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

People ask me why are you a Mormon and I tell them because it works for me. What do you mean by that they would say? When I was a small Child I learned that I was a child of God and that he loved me. I felt that love many times in many situations. As I grew up I questioned many things in my life. Even if my parents loved me but I never questioned my Heavenly Fathers love for me. Being a Mormon gives me direction, stability, and a feeling of belonging. It brings me the peace I need to endure this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by starting and ending my day with a prayer of thankfulness for all my many blessings. I also try to think of others more than I think about myself. I am an emergency responder for our local police and fire departments and volunteer whenever possible. Once a month I go into the children’s room and tell them a story from our children's church magazine. They call me "Sister Friendly". This always bring a smile on their faces and mine. I also go each month and visit 4 sisters from our church. I have a responsibility to make sure they are OK and if they need help I can provide relief for them. We pray at every meal and thank Heavenly Father for the blessings of the day. I try to read something uplifting every day. My scriptures, our church magazine filled with beautiful testimonies and faith promoting stories or just a great book. My life has big problems. It is not an easy life but if I live my faith and endure I can have peace that I have done the very best I could.
