Hi I'm Ron Jorgensen

I grew up in Idaho. I milked cows as a boy. I started a janitorial business in college. I am now a physician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an allergy doctor in Arizona and I love taking care of people. I take care of rashes, wheezes, sniffles and sneezes. I get a lot of pleasure out of helping people feel better. I grew up in a small farm town in Idaho where my brother and I milked cows and took care of the farm. Out of high school, I went to England for a year and a half. On my return home, I started college at Brigham Young University where I studied in microbiology and met my beautiful bride just prior to graduating. While there, I was able to start a janitorial business which my wife and I kept running during medical school at the University of Utah. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine, we took our little family to Rochester, Minnesota to complete specialty training in Allergy and Immunology. We now live in Arizona and have a family of five children. As a father, I love to go out boating, wakeboarding, fishing and skiing with the family. We have a great time together. I find in seeing the successes of my children.

Why I am a Mormon

Following the teachings of Jesus Christ has been a part of my life since early childhood. I have been a member of this church all of my life and I was baptized when I was eight. As a boy, I learned about Christ and desired to follow Him. At an early age, my mother and father taught me the stories of Jesus and the stories of the great prophets in the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon. I developed a love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Although, this kept me in a good path, there came a time that I needed to know for myself that the teachings I had learned were true. I was about 16 when I really began to read and study the scriptures. I wanted to know if this really was the true church. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know. It was then that I received an answer from God. I knew for myself. God answered my prayer. In that experience, I came to know that God knew me and really does answer prayers. I came to know that the Book of Mormon really is the word of God. I came to know that there were prophets on the earth again. I came to know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ. I came to know that he received the priesthood of God and that it has been passed down through worthy men since that time. I also came to know that the current prophets and apostles were true messengers of Jesus Christ. From that moment, I began an even more earnest search to know Jesus Christ. I wanted to know if He really knew me. Out of the millions of people on this earth, did He really know me by name? Did I really matter to Him? For some reason this question really bothered me. Once again, He answered my prayer in an unmistakeable way. I knew. I really knew that He lived. The pure love that I felt with that experience is difficult to describe. Since that time, I have devoted my life to serving Jesus Christ in every way that I can. I know that He lives and that He loves each one of us.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by loving others. More than anything, I want for people to know how much they are loved by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I want to share the pure love that I felt in the moment that my prayers were answered and the ongoing love that I feel as I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I strive to look at others as Christ would, and show the compassion and generosity that He has shown to me over the years. I look for opportunities to help those in need whenever I can. I want to live a life that would be pleasing to the Savior. Although I can never do anything comparable to what He has done for me by sacrificing His life for my sins, I want to do all I can to help others come close to Him so that they can feel His love. I also live my faith by taking time daily to study the word of God. I want to know more about the Savior and His teachings so that I can be a better follower of Jesus Christ and be more like Him. I strive to live in a way that my children might know how loving and kind Heavenly Father is by the way that they are treated by their own father. The same is true of work. I strive to live in a way that those whom I come in contact with during the day will really know that someone cares about them. Of course, I am not perfect and I have bad days, but I know one who is perfect and that makes all the difference in my life. I love serving in the Church. It gives me many more opportunities to show my love for the Savior and those around me.  I believe that if I can make a difference in someones, I have done something and pleasing to the Lord.
