Hi I'm Wendi

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mother to three girls, have a great husband, and love the outdoors, astronomy, crafting, music, and dancing!

About Me

In 2011 I turned 30, and feel like life has brought me to an amazing place! In the past 10 years, I have graduated from college, have scuba-dived in Tahiti and in Cozumel, have climbed the ruins at Chichen Itza, have hiked in France and Switzerland, and even more exciting than all of that, married a really great guy who loves to cook (huge plus!!), and we have had three girls join our little family. I love to hike, sing, dance, paint, take pictures of my kids, craft, and travel. Hopefully someday, my husband and I will be able to travel more regularly--maybe when our kids are old enough to scuba dive with us!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I've always been a member of this church since I was born into a family that were already members, I'm a Mormon now because I love the peace that it brings to my life. I know without a doubt that living the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me and my family happier, even when things get tough. The eternal perspective that the teachings of our Savior gives us, makes it easy to have hope and faith even in the world we live in today. Thinking about what my kids will have to deal with as they grow and are in school makes it even more important to me to help them gain a personal conviction to do what is right, and follow the example of our Savior. So I'm a Mormon because I love my Savior, and I know that this is His church, and by following it's teachings my family and I can be happy.

How I live my faith

My favorite thing about the Mormon Church is that it provides so many opportunities to serve, just as our Savior has taught us to do. Each member of the church is given the opportunity to visit, become friends with, and watch over other members. This is so amazing to me, because I know that because of this I am being watched over, and I can watch over others as the Savior would have me do. When we had a huge blizzard, we all called the families we are to watch over, and if someone needed help, a work crew was mobilized to help. Some other ways that I've been able to serve are by working with our Cub Scout pack, being a leader to the teenage girls--teaching them on Sundays and planning weekly activities for them, and planning activities for the adult women as well. Recently I helped plan an activity where we were taught about the importance of being the Hands of the Savior by serving and lifting up our fellow man, and then we all spent some time making little newborn baby hats to donate to the nursury at a nearby hospital. My faith is a huge part of my life, and I try to live it every day by following the example of my Savior to serve and be kind to all those around me.
