Hi I'm Carrie

I'm from Florida. I'm a mom and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of a beautiful little girl with another on the way. I just graduated from college and now work at a fitness center for women. Aside from my interest in health and wellness I love to learn new things and read inspirational books. I really enjoying crafting and playing with my daughter and husband. I hope to one day open a fitness facility of my own to help others reach their health goals.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where the gospel was prominent and my family was all strong members. In such a setting it was very easy to lean on the testimony of family, but as I grew up I began to discover my faith more and more. When I was 10 I was with my mom and brother in the car driving home from an appointment with the doctor when the brakes in our car went out. We were approaching a red light and my mother quickly turned into the neighborhood that was just off the main road and firmly told my brother to say a prayer. He said a silent prayer and when she didn't hear him say anything she firmly told him again to say a prayer out loud. The moment he said amen the car stopped. We made it home without any further problems. I am converted to the power of prayer. When I was 16 I went through a rough time in my life. I desperately wanted to find happiness and peace rather than the deep sense of loneliness I often felt. One night I was sobbing in my bed when I looked up at my wall and saw my picture of Christ with the words "Come Unto Me". Right then I started speaking to Him, picturing him at the edge of my bed, and asked for a hug - a simple hug. It seemed almost instantly that I felt His arms surround me just as real as if it were one of my dear friends. My sobs subsided and I drifted to sleep. I am converted to knowledge that Christ lives. When I was 18 and had just left home for college I was in a bad place spiritually. I had fallen victim to temptations and I knew I had to find a way out of the darkness I put myself in. I studied desperately searching to know how to be forgiven and draw closer to my Heavenly Father. After weeks and weeks of diligently striving to be better I was walking home from class when standing in the staircase I felt a rush of love and peace come over me. I stopped for a moment and smiled, soaking in the feeling. I knew that the Lord accepted my offering of a broken heart and contrite spirit. I am converted to the principle of repentance.

How I live my faith

Having the knowledge about this gospel that I have, it is hard to not live my faith. In my church ward both my husband and I are the Emergency Preparedness Representatives. This calling has opened my eyes to the importance our Church Leaders have put on being prepared for any disaster, both globally or nationally as well as within our family. I have had the opportunity to share the things I have learned with others in my church so we can all be aware and prepared. For me and my family I live my faith by studying my scriptures and the words of our modern-day prophet and other church leaders. We listen to uplifting music and watch wholesome movies in order to keep ourselves spiritual intune and our home a safe haven from the turmoil in the world.
