Hi I'm Ashlie

I love music. I'm Bipolar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Over the past few years, I have really struggled with my life and I found out that I have anxiety, depression, and Bipolar Disorder. I have been hospitalized for these things a total of 7 times. For a while, I couldn't bring myself to do anything that I used to enjoy, and I was just miserable. But after a while, I finally was put on a proper treatment plan that would work for me. My family has also struggled with finances, but somehow we have always been able to pull through. I love music and dancing and I play piano, guitar, and I sing. Music is my favorite way to worship and bring myself closer to the Lord. I am currently a freshman in college, hoping to study psychology. Now I am an upbeat, friendly person who loves to have fun and try new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me strength to live my life, especially in times of struggle. I know it is the true church because I get a warm, bright feeling every time I attend my meetings and read my scriptures. The values I am taught help me to succeed in school and keep in good health. When I was deep in my depression, the church is what kept me alive. I knew that my Heavenly Father still loved me and that Jesus Christ provided a way for us to return to him. I also find that his gospel brings peace to my heart. Being a member of this wonderful church, I have the knowledge that I have a work to do here on this Earth and that everything happens the way it does for a reason. He has a plan for me and everyone else in this world. It helps me see the positives in life and leads me to see how blessed and lucky I am to be alive! With all this knowledge I have also been able to have a positive influence on others that I meet who may also be suffering. I just want everyone to know they have a God who loves them, that they can talk to him through prayer, and everything happens for our growth and benefit.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through being a positive example and sharing gospel principles with others. I love to do family history work and index names for the church's family history site. I also help in church by being a friend to everyone I see and making them feel welcome. I believe it is important to stand as a witness to God and help bear others' burdens.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are most definitely Christians. After all, we are "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". We believe that this is the church of Christ as established on the Earth today. And the Book of Mormon's subtitle is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". We pray daily in his name. We believe that he lived and died for us that we can be saved and return to live with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
