Hi I'm Cami

I am a full time student and a mom of 2 children. My family and I love all things Disney. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of two busy young kids. I met my husband while serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hong Kong. For those who are unfamiliar with Asia, this is a small area at the southern end of China. My husband was also serving a mission there. After we got married, we decided my husband would finish school first, so I worked full-time. My husband graduated with his bachelor's degree in MRI Technology this past spring. I now have the opportunity to resume my education. I am majoring in Elementary Education and enjoying learning. My family and I also LOVE all things Disney: Disneyland, Disney store, Disney movies, Disney characters. We haven't made it to Disney World yet, but someday.... I also enjoy reading (I love the Fablehaven series), crocheting (my grandma taught me), and recently completed my first 5k run.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the LDS church. I come from a family who's conversion stories date back to the early days of the restored gospel. They were counted among the pioneers and early member of the church. My family is a big one and we attended our weekly meetings and activities. Having the knowledge that families can be eternal always brought a spirit of love and unity to our home. There was always respect shown between each other, and it was something that I took for granted when I was young. Having this example helped me become the person I am today. I consider my family (both immediate and extended) my best friends and people that I can rely on. I wanted to show my children and husband the love that I felt growing up. I know that my children will face some perilous times as they grow up and I want to help guide them so they will remember that they are precious souls and children of our Heavenly Father. I also want my children to know that I believe in Jesus Christ and I know that He is the Savior of us all. He wants us to be happy people and to love each other. I want them to have the comfort of knowing that our lives and relationships do not end after we pass on from this life. We will be together again in heaven.

How I live my faith

I have had several opportunities to serve my community and in my ward. First, I served a mission in Hong Kong. My mission lasted 18 months and I found lifelong friends through serving them. In addition to teaching people the gospel, we also performed community service, including giving all who were interested the opportunity to attend free English classes taught by us missionaries. I think about my friends in Hong Kong often and cherish the memories I have. I currently teach youth Sunday School every week. My husband and I teach the 12 year old class. What a fun bunch of kids (I'm serious, not sarcastic)!! Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and it's not because of the presents or homemade treats (although both of these are fantastic.) I love the spirit of Christmas, when people enjoy spending time with family and look for ways to help one another. We find different service projects each year to help children in our community and others who may need extra help. Jesus Christ spent his whole life serving others, and I feel his love when I help those around me.
