Hi I'm Larissa

I grew up in So Cal. I'm a massage therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After getting laid off at the beginning of the recession, I decided it was time to leave corporate America and find a profession where I can help people. I went back to school and became a massage therapist. I love what I do. I also have an active life. I like to pay powder puff football, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball. I like road trips and traveling to new places. Photography is one of my passions but you can pretty much give me anything creative to do and I'd be happy. I was in 4-H growing up. Most people are shocked to hear that because they think 4-H is all about animals but there is a lot more to it than that. I love to read and watch movies. I also love to play games and get together with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but I was truly converted at age 18. I started going to the singles ward (a church congregation for young single adults) and I heard stories from others my age. I always felt it was true but the conviction of my own peers made me find out for myself. They testified of the light and truth and I wanted that for myself. I got down on my knees and prayed. The spirit of the Lord filled my heart and soul and I knew it was true. That faith has been tested many times. There have been very sad times in my life where I could've become angry with God. Some even may have felt that he abandoned me. But in the worst times, I have prayed for comfort and relief and it was given to me. The Lord is always by my side and I am so grateful to really know that. There is no doubt in my mind that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with everything I can. My life reflects my faith. I am not perfect but I live everyday to become that way. I try to be an example of kindness and charity and love. At church, I hold 3 callings. Callings are tasks given to us by or leaders. I plan dating activities for the young single adults in my ward, I help people learn about family history, and I am the choir director. The choir is the most difficult in that I was not qualified for the position at all. I've been in choirs but I don't even play an instrument. It's been a learning curve, but I'm glad I was up to the challenge. My choir is awesome!
