Hi I'm Laurie

I'm from Texas. I'm married and have 3 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the south the 6 out of 11 children. I was one of the lucky kids who grew up on what I called a farm, but what was really just a big yard with animals at times. I grew up loving to be active outside, but also loved to read. I went to College at 17, met my Husband at 20 and have been loving being a full time mother to 3 highly active boys.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that were members. I grew up watching my mother pray, and my father waking us up at 5:30 in the morning so we could study the scriptures before we went to school. I always felt it was true, but it wasn't until I was 16 that I knew without any doubt that it was. I was asked to go out with the sister missionaries, and when I returned I participated in a church activity that was held. The feelings I felt while I was watching the missionaries of the church come together made me realize that I wanted that feeling forever. I wanted to feel enveloped with love always. Since that moment, when I am struggling I often remember that experience, and those same feelings come back. I love this church. I have had most of my prayers answered while studying the scriptures. I love that book and I turn to it when I need questions answered. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I love the Gospel and the happiness it brings to my life and to my family.

How I live my faith

I have been asked at this time to help the Wolf Cub Scouts in my ward. It has been a different calling for me, but I love working with these wonderful boys so full of goodness and enthusiasm to do whats right. They are a good example to me, but also to my young boys who come to the activities with me and look up to these young boys who are already setting a good example. I also have been asked to participate in Visiting Teaching, a program that has the woman in our church check up on one another. Through this I have helped, and been helped by others. Mostly though I concentrate on being the best Woman, Wife and Mother I can be. I try to teach my children what is right and wrong, and more importantly, I try to live my life the way I try to teach my children to live.
