Hi I'm Lance

I grew up and still live in Southern Utah. I enjoy hiking, golf, and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small rural town where family, friends, and recreation were my life. I especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports. I served a 2 year mission in Spokane, Washington and loved the people in that area. It was a life changing experience to serve them. Upon my return I attended college, earning a business degree. My wife and I met while attending college and I knew she was "the one" for me. It was magic! We were married in the St George Temple. During our almost 9 years of marriage, we have been blessed with 3 beautiful little girls. Nothing brings me more joy than spending time with my family; they are my life! I currently work in the golf industry and continue to enjoy many outdoor recreational activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both sides of my family have strong ties to the church and its beginnings. I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ by loving parents. For as long as I remember, I wanted to serve a mission for my church. I had always relied on my parents and leaders and never doubted that what they taught me was true. Early in my mission I had a difficult time expressing my beliefs with conviction. I needed to know for myself if what I had been taught to believe really was the truth. There is a passage in the final chapter of the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:4) that contains a promise for all honest seekers of truth: ". . . ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." I decided it was time for me to put it to the test. After reading, pondering, and sincere prayer; I received a witness from God that the Book of Mormon is a true and Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That answer to my prayer is an anchor to my soul in a troubled, turbulant world. I invite anyone who seeks for the truth and peace to do the same.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have had many opportunities to serve others: teaching classes, leadership roles, and serving the youth. I cannot forget to mention my family; there is no more important service to render than to my own wife and children. Jesus Christ spent his life in service to all around him and ultimately gave his life for all mankind. While my service does not compare in magnitude to that of our Savior, still I try to follow as best I can his perfect example. I find great joy in serving the Lord and my fellow men. This way of life brings purpose and peace into my heart and gives me hope for a better world.
