Hi I'm LeAnn

Utah is my home, have lived all over the U.S. I'm a grandma, animal lover, knowledge seeker, and real estate agent. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my job of real estate but more than that I love my family. I've been very blessed to be born and live in the great United States but I would love to travel and see other cultures and find the connections between us. I spent many years of my life sort of lost and searching and found that I could hide some of the pain with alcohol and later when things got really bad I even turned to drugs. There were years of darkness in my life, of hopelessness without direction. Finding that the Atonement of Jesus Christ was for me changed me, saved me really. I am the youngest sibling in a family of nine and I had good parents. I now live very close to my family who at one time didn't like me much. One of the best things I can remember is when my sister told me that she could see a change in my countenance, it was like I was shining. That is what Jesus Christ can do for us. I can't explain it but I know He lives and loves us. I know He cared for me enough to die for me. Now my life is pretty simple, I walk my dogs, I like to cook and putter around my house and yard. I teach the adult Sunday school class and sing in choir, I sell real estate, I video chat with my grandson and my son just married a girl with 2 small boys so now I have THREE grandsons. Life is an adventure and every day can be such a blessing if we trust in Him. The direction I'm headed might not be totally in the right direction all the time, but at least now I remember and can make decisions to change it.

Why I am a Mormon

I"m a mormon because I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love that His church is on the earth. I love that we have a connection to the prophets of ancient days and that we believe we are joined with Israel through our belief in Jesus Christ. I study the scriptures and find answers to all of lifes questions. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope and joy. I used to have "fun" but now I find lasting joy. I used to have "friends" but now I have family. I used to be alone but now I never feel that way because even when I'm alone I have the companionship and knowledge of the Holy Spirit that is there for us to guide us. I'm a Mormon because I believe that we can be sealed in the temples and be together as families forever. I also believe in the Bible and that Christ will come again and reign on the earth as He promised. I can't believe that God would have talked with prophets in ancient times and then quit. He still talks to His prophets and we have one on the earth today who is concerned for us and loves us and wants to give us the guidance from the Father that I believe he receives through revelation and prayer. I want to return to my Father in Heaven and from my study and research of the Bible and The Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ there are certain things we must do. This church has all of those things to offer because it is His church. I've been on the other side, the outside and I've gone down the path and tried every thing to get my head straight, to make changes in my life, to survive but none of what I tried would work or it would only work for about a split second and then I would fall again. The saving grace of Jesus Christs love is the only power on earth that could do what I needed and that was to take the pain and the guilt away, and give me hope and let me feel loved and important. As a daughter of God I want to return to him.

How I live my faith

I live in a senior branch meaning that most everyone that attends our meetings is over the age of 55. I also live in a senior community and I have really learned to love the peace and quiet of my little neighborhood. It is safe and I know my neighbors watch out for each other. When I first got "converted" to the church I was asked to serve in the Young Women's Association as the secretary. My duties were to keep records of the meetings, communicate with the members of upcoming activities, and such. I loved working with everyone there. Then I moved and was asked to serve in the nursery with the babies. We sang songs, I read them stories, we played with toys and had snacks. I loved the little children. Next I worked for several years in the primary with the children between 3 and 12. I taught classes, I conducted the singing in the opening meeting and learned to really love the children, especially when they would run up to you and hug you and say hello teacher. After moving into my current home, I was asked to teach the adult sunday school class and I went into a panic. The first few months I would hyperventilate and get sick from worry and felt so inadequate but it's going on 4 years now and I am somewhat comfortable, but mostly I have come to see that the Lord has a plan and I think He knew what I NEEDED to learn. This was a blessing for me, not for those people in my class. I've grown so much and this year we are studying the New Testament. I have grown to love Paul and many other followers of Christ.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

LeAnn
Christ was not paid for His service to His fellowman when He walked the earth. He is our Example and we should be willing to sacrifice our time and our talents to be more like Him. It is a blessing to serve others and the payment received through serving others is greater than any money. Show more Show less
