Hi I'm Alison

I love singing, reading, teaching and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am a student. I am going to school to become an elementary teacher because I love children and I love to teach. I also really love to learn, so I read a lot. Some other things that I love are singing, music, theater, movies, tennis and volleyball. I recently tried out racquetball and I have decided that I like that too.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church is true. This church is literally Jesus Christ’s kingdom once again on this earth. I have come to know these things are true through out my entire life. I can not say that there was one grand moment in which I saw a vision and was told to be a Mormon. My conversion happened every time I read the Book of Mormon, went to church, attended seminary or just answered questions that my friends had. I felt the spirit manifest to me in a way that I will never be able to deny that the Book of Mormon is true, that the things I was taught at church and in seminary were the doctrines of Christ. Every time I explained to my friends what I believed I felt its truthfulness. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am in a singles congregation in Ogden, Utah. It is for young single adults between the ages of 18 and 30. I serve as a temple prep teacher, and I absolutely love it. Each week I get to teach members who are preparing to go to the temple about the sacred blessing it is to enter the house of the Lord. The temple is where individuals go to make covenants with God to strengthen us in this life and receive blessings for the world to come. It is also where families can be sealed together and become forever families. I am so grateful for the eternal family I have, and can not wait until I will be sealed to my future spouse. I also have had the opportunity to serve as a missionary for the church. I served in Michigan, and it was the most amazing experience of my life so far. I was able to share the truths, which I love with those who have not heard them before. It was an amazing blessing teaching people about the truths of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Alison
Prophets are men who reveal Gods will for the entire world. Because of this call they must be called of God. So when one prophet dies, Heavenly Father then chooses the next Prophet for his church from the Quorum of the 12 apostles, men who have been set called and set apart as witnesses of Christ. It has been this way from the Joseph Smith down to Thomas S. Monson today. Show more Show less
