Hi I'm Danica

I grew up in Southern California. I'm a paraeducator at an elementary school. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

This past year has been very eventful for me. I graduated from BYU where I studied Theatre and Philosophy, I got married, and I moved to Northern California for my husband's grad school program. Now I'm looking into online masters programs to further my education. I love drawing, reading, watching movies, and spending time with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm LDS because it makes sense to me. I could never imagine a world where there is no life after death. And I can't imagine a world without a God, or some higher power. Naturally, as a youth I had my doubts, but I could never deny how the gospel made me feel. I believed the words of the prophet, apostles, and other leaders. Even if my testimony wasn't very strong, I believed their testimonies, and they helped me to develop a testimony of my own. One of the things I especially like about my faith is the practice of baptism for the dead. This allows us to be baptized in behalf of those who have left this world. That way, those who died without a knowledge of the gospel or children who died before getting baptized can have those ordinances performed for them. I could never believe in a God who condems those unbaptized just because they never had the opportunity. I am so glad that my faith gives everyone the chance to receive all ordinances and blessings.

How I live my faith

There are several ways that I serve in my church. Like most sisters in our church, I am called to be a visiting teacher. I am assigned two sisters to visit each month. I love visiting teaching because it is such a nice (and fun!) way to check up on each other, make friends, and make sure that everyone has their needs met. I also conduct the music in sacrament meeting, and I help plan Do It Yourself activities for the sisters in my ward. But my favorite way to serve is by going to the temple and performing ordinances for those who have passed on. It is so wonderful to go through the temple for yourself, but it is even more wonderful when you perform those ordinances for another.
