Hi I'm Mick

I'm a Mormon. I am from Indiana. I enjoy playing basketball and my guitar.

About Me

I have two brothers. Both are about 6 years older than me. My oldest brother is married and has a son, and he currently lives with his wife in New Mexico. My second brother is going to college at Utah State studying psychology. I am a high school graduate preparing to serve an LDS mission. I enjoy playing basketball and I have slight advantage over most people because I'm 6'3". I play as often as possible with friends from church and school. I also play guitar. I have been playing for a little more than 7 years. Some songs that I can play are Carry On My Wayward Son, Dream On, Viva la Vida, and Stairway to Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a very strong testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he restored the church that Christ founded while he was on the earth. I have seen the blessings that come from keeping God's commandments and the happyness it bring to people's lives. I have faith that God's commandments are to protect us and that keeping these commandments may be hard now, but in the long run, what we get out of it are things we never would have found any other way. I know that God has a plan for us and if we choose to follow that plan, he strenghtens us and helps us on our way back to Him. I'm a Mormon, and I know that this church is true.

How I live my faith

There are many ways that I live the gospel. I don't swear or use provocative language. I don't drink alcohol or smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't watch TV shows that are vulgar or profane. The music I listen to doesn't encourage any of those things. The music I play is the same way. Through the church's youth programs, I have become an Eagle Scout. Our troop serves others whenever possible. We are always glad to help those in need. I am kind to others. I try not to insult others for the sake of humor. I attend church every Sunday, and when I was in high school, I attended a Seminary class at the church every day before school. I go to youth activities every week at the church. I read from the Book of Mormon every day, and I also study Preach My Gospel in order to prepare for my upcoming mission to Mexico. I also say personal prayers every day. I also keep a journal of what happens to me that day and what I learn spiritually. I've found that all of this has made my life easier and it's helped me to get through my biggest trials. I'm thankfull that I have the gospel and I don't know where I would be without it.
