Hi I'm Kim Christensen

I consider myself an East coast girl. I'm from upstate N.Y. We raised our family in No. VA. We are now in AZ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in upstate New York. It is such a beautiful place and I love visiting there as often as I can. When I was in elementary school I had the opportunity to live in Mexico with my family for 2 years. I learned to speak Spanish fairly well. After high school I attended Brigham Young University. Before I graduated I took time off to serve a mission for the Church. I was called to the Madrid, Spain mission. I had a wonderful opportunity to love the people in Spain and teach the gospel to many. Back home I graduated from college and moved back East. I got a job working for a Congressman on Capitol hill. While in D.C. I met and married my current husband. We have been blessed with 5 great daughters who have brought so much joy into our lives. We are now awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild and can hardly wait! Life brings us challenges but so much happiness and fulfillment.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life. I was blessed to be born into a family with strong faith and committment to church and family. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Being a member has taught me wonderful values. I love that I was taught to pray and read my scriptures as a young child. I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. The church has taught me how to be a better wife and mother. I honestly don't know how I could have raised my family in the world today without the help of the church. There are so many challenges that face us and I know I can turn to the Lord for answers. I know my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ are aware of me and know me. I have had so many answers to prayer come. Sometimes it is just small things, yet things that really matter to me. It is such a testimony to me that even when I am asking for help to small things that I receive answers. Everything about the gospel helps us and offers us strength. How grateful I am to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always live my life with intregrity. Not to say that I don't make mistakes and have many struggles. However I do pray morning and night and with my family that we will live righteously. I have the opportunity to receive callings to help in my congregation. Currently I am a Primary teacher to the 9 year old children. They are wonderful and amaze me with there knowledge of the gospel. I am challenged by them to always be prepared so that we can learn together. I work as a substitute teacher and I have the chance to be in the high schools where I live. This gives me the opportunity to live my faith and be out in the community each day and try to be a good example. I am so thankful for my testimony of the gospel. It gives me the strength to go out each day and be the best person I can be. My testimony brings me great happiness. I know that we have the true church on the earth today. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth, Pres. Thomas Monson, who leads us. And I know that our Savior loves us and guides us.
