Hi I'm Sarah Martin

I am the mother of 5 kids. I have been married for 15 years. I love photography. I love to blog about my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 kids. Some days can be down right tough but I know that this is the most important job I will ever have. I have been married for over 15 years. I am still madly in love with my husband which is becoming increasingly rare these days. I love to blog. I love photography. I am enamored with capturing all the little moments and connections that happen in our daily family lives. I don't want to forget any of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up as a member of the church. Growing up in Texas, which is part of the bible belt I learned early on that members of my faith were not always understood and were often ostracized. As a young girl I can remember my best friend telling me, matter of factly one day, "My mom says that you and your family are going to hell because you believe in the Book of Mormon." I was so hurt. As a young teen I found myself needing to know for myself if the Gospel was true. Being a Mormon and standing up for what I knew would not be the easiest road. Was it worth it? I had to know for myself. My parents testimony was not enough to carry me. As I began reading and studying the scriptures the Holy Ghost bore witness to me that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. He did see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. If this was true than so was the Book of Mormon. Growing up in a place were I was often ridiculed and left out because of my beliefs was super hard but I am grateful for the strong testimony I had to develop early on because of it. I now find great strength in doing hard things, especially with the Lord's help.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ is a lifestyle. It always has been for me. The things I learn each Sunday at church are the things I am trying to live Monday-Sunday. My number one priority is my relationship with God. I try to start out each day with prayer and scriptures study. Life gets so crazy busy but I have found that when I make scripture study and prayer a priority in my life I am happier. My second priority is my family. I love my family. I have been blessed with 5 kids. I have always wanted a large family. I love the chaos and energy it brings to our home. Sure there are some really hard days, weeks, heck even months, but I have always believed that I am doing the most important work. Nothing is more important than the work I do in my home. I volunteer with the young women in our church ages 12-18. It brings me so much joy to serve. I love helping the young girls discover who they are and discover what they believe. I love showing them that just because you have values doesn't mean you can't have fun. I love to see them evolve as they come to know they are daughters of God.
