Hi I'm Ian

I'm Nevada born and raised. I studied philosophy and computer science in college, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in the Colorado Denver South Mission. Before my mission I spent most of my time in school studying philosophy and computer science. I also love working on and riding motorcycles. I love the values of the church, and being able to help teach the gospel to anyone who is interested.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because after all my searching, I know I have found the truth. I was born into the church but stopped attending for a long period of time. During that time I struggled with my relationship with God and any spirituality for that matter. I spent a lot of time pondering about the main questions in life, "Why am I here?", "What's the purpose of my life?", and so on. This led me to start looking for a church, I decided to look into as many as I could, and that I would save Mormanism for last (I didn't want to be biased about my inqueries :P ). As I took some world religions classes in school, and even attended many religious services, I started piecing together my own beliefs, things from varying religions that made sense to me, or touched my spirit. In the end I though I had a pretty good view on what I thought was the perfect religion, so I decided to look into the LDS church to maybe find a few more points to add to my own theology. As I really studied the Church, I quickly realized that each piece of truth I had found along the way fit perfectly into the Mormon gospel. The spirit had been testifying of those truths as I found them in other religions, and when I came to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it was that same spirit that gave me my testimony.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as a missionary for the LDS church. As a missionary I help what ever community I am currently in with service. We often get to volunteer at homeless shelters, or even just helping people move into the area by unpacking trailers of boxes. I spend the majority of my time teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ though. We teach anyone who is willing to listen in hopes of helping them come closer to Christ, by either helping them find their faith, or building upon their current faith. I know how much the gospel has helped me in my life. I've also seen it help so many people already, so I want to share that with everyone. We all strive for true joy in this life, and that joy comes from following our savior, Jesus Christ. I also know that as we strive to come closer to Him, we will only be met with more blessings.
